As posted via Enline Design's facebook page.

Okay everyone.. as the TF fandom is known for strong opinions, please understand this is a PROTOTYPE to test fit. The details are much more refined and transformation will be a bit different. This is set "A"-COW CATCHER of a TWO part set called "BRUTE DEFENSE". COW CATCHER actually has 12 a 12 point transformation. It works for HASBRO/TAKARA ONSLAUGHT/BRUTICUS and also is compatible with the AWESOME FP UPGRADES.

Interesting, but I do agree it's on the big side. That probably won't stop me from getting it if the price is right though.

I agree with the others, nice but to darn big.
Looks lie it interferes with the arm articulation.

Very nice but way too damn big.

L.O.D. workshop:

Listen to the boards. Everyone wants this for their Fansproject Bruticus so shrink it while you are still in the early development stages. I want a chest shield but I dont care about the cow catcher if it's going to affect the proportions of the chest shield. Personally I could care less if it intergrates with the vechicle mode. Fansproject Bruticus is already a parts former like the original G1 toy.

Updated prototype

Welcome to seeing the creative progress of artists working together. Prototype Il BRUTE DEFENSE pt.1.. This is much closer to the final version. Requires the ONSLAUGHT to be turned around at the waist and the arms to be swapped.

Looks much better but could stand to be trimmed a couple more centimeters. But Im not feeling the idea of "arms having to be swapped". Are you referring to the FP connectors or Onslaught's actual robot arms ? Having to disassamble Onslaught to make him into a permanant torso is not a favorable option. Try to fix that. Also I hope "Set B" is G1 heads for Onslaught, Vortex, and Brawl. I would buy that set even if the chest plate isnt to my liking.

You know what? I never thought Colossus needed a chest shield. He already has that hunk of truck sticking out already. And I'm not too keen on swapping arms. Wouldn't that make Onslaught untransformable into a seperate robot? At least without reswapping the arms ... if you have to do that much just for a shield, it isn't really worth it.

And you know what? Someone should just make three new bots to replace the Hasbro ones, that's what. Everyone loves Colossus anyway and "Swindle" and "Blast off" are pretty much perfect.

I think it means turn Bruticus's torso 180 degrees, then swap the arms so they look proper.

I could be wrong though.

So youre saying Vortex would be Bruticus right arm and Blast off his left ?

Hahahah... man you guys are dense sometimes. If you turn Bruticus' torso 180 degrees (with the arms connected), it will put Vortex on the right and Blast Off on the left, which is incorrect. You will need to remove them and swap them to make Bruticus proper again.

In other words this is just a crappy idea. I say screw the cow catchers and just make a smaller chest shield that fits on in 3 seperate pieces. Somebody on the TFW2005 Radicons blog did a custom shield once. Im gonna try to find the link...

Edit:

I couldnt find the one I was looking for but I found 2 cool ones that are smaller and in better proportion with the figure. Maybe he could use these for ideas.

I had heard of a third party group tackling the remaining Combaticons. I wonder if it was this project.

Although it may not be. I mean ... they could just make a whole new Onslaught and incorperate the shirld more elegantly.

Yeah... those customs look great. The new crotch piece is totally unnecessary.... I'm perfectly happy with Brute's crotch. Why does it feel like I'm in the Uranus thread???

I would love a new Brawl !!! But if thats the case please make a cartoon accurate vortex and onslaught as well. Im so tried of onslaughts football head, Takara could have at least fixed that in their exclusive repaint.

A chest plate for the ROTF Bruticus. Can be used as a cow catcher for Onslaught in alt mode.

I have to say, now that I own myself a Bruticus (thanks to Takra's and Fansproject's re-releases), I find the idea of this accessory somewhat superfluous. Bruticus already has a chest plate, made up of the front of Onslaught's truck with the sides splayed out. And with the new crotch piece that Fansproject's set supplies, which is color-matched with the chest area, it really does capture the look of the G1 toy's chest piece nicely. And everything there already integrates nicely into the vehicle mode, while frankly this "cowcatcher" idea just -- to me, at least -- looks damn foolish.

To people who do like it... More power to you, and I hope you enjoy it! However, I just think it is silly. Really, the only further add-on I would want to see for Bruticus would be better heads for Onslaught, Vortex, and Brawl. (Brawl could be tricky, however... It might need to maintain the guns to ether side of the head for the sake of the vehicle mode, but I suppose it could do that and still have a better looking face between those guns.)
