Love the box art for Duneraker!

So, can I assume these should be shipping soon?

iGear's site is still listing a 5/15/13 release date. I expect the release to be slightly delayed from that date, citing previous release issues (except for that Manatee/Tubes early release).

I don't think they are close until they release pics of prototypes from the factory that are in those weird off-color plastics for QC testing and approval.

Once you see those, my guess is you are probably about 3 months out for production. That is only my guess though.

That is why I am hopeful Beachcomber's blue will be different, because what we saw was just a painted model that they painted themselves...the blue is not the plastic in those photos...

Though I hope I am pleasantly surprised they release before the deadline.

Awesome !!! It's figures like this that are the reason 3rd parties are so successful. When I see these photos and think about the "Hasbro only" crowd, I just keep scratching my head in confusion.

On a side note, what's the story behind that flower thing in Beachcomber's gun. It looks too stupid for there not to be some obscure G1 reference. Saberblade, enlighten me...

the flower references an episode in season two "The Golden Lagoon" where "pacifist Beachcomber takes cover and finds a secluded glen full of flora and fauna right out of a Disney cartoon."
This is my guess. correct me if I'm wrong

For some reason, the flower in Beachcomber makes me think of the opening credits to Watchmen...

I think you are correct, mooncake. I did always think of Beachcomber as having that hippie, flower-child attitude...

It made me think of that as well. But even that was taken from this. It was a real thing.

I really wonder if that scene from Watchmen was real or made up (that the protesters were shot after putting flowers in the barrels of rifles). I'd like to think that I'd know something like that for certain, but I don't. Maybe the internet has the answer.

The Internet is full of a few facts, and a lot of BS, but it should confirm this. :)

As far as I remember, I do not think any protesters were shot. That was part of the deal with Watchmnen. A lot of things were different after the discovery of Dr. Manhatten, like winning the Vietnam War. Heck, Nixon was re-elected 3 or 4 times, IIRC. Regan wasn't going to run for president until '88 or '92. So, yes, that scene was supposed to be different than actual events of the war protests at the Capital in '67 or '68. (That was just before my time, so I didn't live through it to remember for sure.)

The more you know :D

It'd have been sad if it were real. And, upon further reflection, all those cartoons where hippies were shot in the case and had a flower sticking out of their head woulda been in REALLY bad taste.

I'd have thought the reasoning was quite obvious, and I'm right there with you. Beachcomber would probably disapprove though.;)

I'm loving his boxart, and I can't wait for all these MiniWarriors to come out of the factory.

I'm also still holding out hope for their Sharkticons. A futile hope, maybe, but still ...

It sucks they want to do Outback in white. Who's the ass who chose those colors ? It would be nice if they make a last minute change like they did with brawn and do him in his proper G1 colors without making us all buy a repaint down the line.

Do they want to do him white? The original render looked pretty cream coloured to me, and the lighting in this photo isn't the best. Wait for better shots to emerge, I'm sure it'll be fine.

IGEAR's site says May 15. What do you all think? Do you think they will make the deadline?

We've recently seen some product shots and printed boxes, but its hard to say for sure....

Days away from May 15 and no reviews or new pics. Why is iGear so slow? Gears was announced in April 2012! :BANG_HEAD:

Igear's pretty quick on the repaints. It's getting the new molds out that they take forever.
