:D

Just spotted this over on Chimungmung.com.

Image

Fansproject City Commander armour has been knocked off once again but this time given a minimal colour scheme in white with black hands, chest and knees (correct me if Im wrong) with a couple of coloured touches here and there, as the picture appears to show.
Bundled with the armour comes a set of shoulder missle launchers in white and gold, a white sword and clear case with mini energon cubes!

Chimungmung.com have this set available for £39.90 with $20 worldwide shipping.

More pictures to follow.

:BOT: :CON:

This set looks very interesting and makes for a very different take on the original Ultra Magnus armour. Perhaps inspired by the recent all white version of Classics Ultra Magnus?
Just need to see the set in full bot mode! ;)

I'd be curious to see what the customizing crowd can do with this.

Customizing is about the only thing this is good for. It seems very, verrrrrrrrry lame. The real CC mould is showing it's age anyway; it's time to put the KO to bed.

I love and totally advocate KO's, but this is lame.

Gundam Magnus?

Not a must buy for me, but I'm curious to see the robot mode.

Call me stupid on this one, but I would get it, and slap enough paint apps to make him match up with Stormshadow.......like it would take a lot of painting to do so......

I could see this with the new Takara Henkei/United all white Magnus for a sort of 'grand shining white knight/god Magnus' or something, but it's a specialty item to be sure.

Looking at your Signature picture, how about Stormtrooper Magnus!
The hunt is on for a Stormtrooper head that is in scale! ;)

Didn't think of that one......just did a comparison of a Lego trooper head to my City Commander and it's too small, which also suggests the basic Star Wars figure head would be too small too...

What about a head from one of the star wars transformers.

There was never specifically a Stormtrooper, but there were a few Clone Trooper transformers that, with a bit of paint, could possibly donate a head.

I suppose the things to consider would be if their ball joints are the same size as City Commander's (or if headsortails is willing to do a more complex mod to modify the size of the ball joint) and if the head would fit inside the City Commander mold when transformed into vehicle mode, as I would presume he'd want to keep it a functioning Transformer.

This needs to happen and I look forward to the photos!

Huh I could swear that I had seen one, however a quick Google confirmed you are correct. But hey the clone trooper route would work as well.

Looking pretty cool in white actually! With the blue paint on the lower arms, it works well with Ultra Magnus as he has transparent blue doors and blue legs which, all in all, makes for a very nice look!
If the lower arm panels where painted black instead, then the Nemesis Prime repaint would also work a treat too!

A dated KO mold given a fresh, clean reworking for 2013! :D

That actually looks kind of cool.

I don't need it, but it looks neat.

Yeah, it does look cool. The first time a K.O. has actually interested me. and it wuld look cool as some kind as a cross over as a stormtrooper....or clone trooper for that matter......I'm definitely thinking on this..

First time in a long time CHMS did something more than straight-up copy a mould. Someone new must be working there.

I was under the impression that there were rumours CHMS were associated with one of the 3rd party companies, so maybe seeing more original pieces sell better has encouraged them to think outside the box a little more?

It looks good, but I already have 4 versions of that mold. Im not into the whole "crossovers" thing. How many people would like to see Megatron's head on a Darth Vader body ? (none I hope) With that being said, I never understood why the other way around is so popular.

Actually, Unicron head on Darth Vader body has crossed my mind.

With the blue stripe down the middle paint scheme, I'm thinking Captain Rex. (Though it's been a while since I've watched the Clone Wars cartoon. Gotta get to those DVDs.)

CHMS is also Xtransbots and KFC (and KFC is actually associated witht he legit creator).

But they also made all those Seekers years and years ago, which was the last time they did something more creative with a KO. And those were made under their association with KO Toys.

CHMS is a manufacturing house. They made copies of the Classic Starscream, Voyager Optimus Prime, Animated Arcee, Universe Drag Strip and Sideswipe molds a couple years back. They manufactured the KOLD toys for KOToys (all using Classic Starscream and Optimus Prime molds).

With the problems with CHMS quality in their early toys, and the social issues with KOToys, CHMS pretty much has dropped the name of their company from their products the last 2 years.

CHMS are the guys who made a lot of the FansProject copycat toys too (Protector at least, possibly the others).

Since they are a manufacturing house, they also lend their machines and people to other companies, like X-Transbots, Unique Toys and KFC. Those companies design their own molds, but then have CHMS do the manufacturing. None of these companies advertise that CHMS is their manufacturer, and they all watch their QC closely before releasing their products, but some people still hear "CHMS" and get all crazy about them making low quality toys from 3-4 years ago. It's really not fair, as the quality of X-Transbots, Unique Toys and KFC seem as good as any other third party company.

Jury's out on KFC since they haven't actually released anything. I heard that Xtransbots and UT's stuff were on the low end of the quality spectrum myself.

Regardless, my point is that we haven't actually seen any desirable repaints out of CHMS sicne the KOToys days. So I wonder if they haven't gotten someone new.
