So... pretty...
War Within inspired stuff always looks pretty though. I'm a sucker that way.

About friggin time we saw some traction on this set. I've been looking forward to these more than their Stunitcons and Function-X line. Maybe it's because they're so damn cute.

That'd be better than an FPCore exclusive.

These guys look great, but unless I could re-purpose them for my Neo-Classics set I just can't justify the expense unfortunately.

I really don't need another line to eat at my wallet right now. I had intended on passing on these guys. But, darn-it, they look gooooood. The Macross fan in me must have that Kickback!

They look pretty cool, but I got a lot more to spend my money on. Unless these can be Neo-G1 in any way, I'm gonna have to pass. Sucks, since I love these molds.

I skipped out on the deluxe insecticons, but this I may do, we'll see how much other stuff is in the pipeline for when they get announced and released.

I loved FPs take on the Insecticons!
So these guys are the 2nd remold of the originals but who are they meant to homage or represent? Any pics who these guys are supposed to be would be great!
Like any good mold, the company producing them need to get good milage out of them. I wonder when FP are going to remold/repaint Steelcore and into whom?

These are pre-Earth versions of the first team of Insecticons (the ones already released with FP), based on their War Within appearance.

Those are
WeirdWolf and
Brainstorm homages, from the Function X series.

I was sorta hoping for almost-new characters like the Swindle and Blast-Off repaints were vague homages to Micromasters. There were a few that could work and there are plenty of awesome colourschemes they could stick on these and make them look like great new characters.
Normal Insection colours would probably get a pass from me, unless they're a bargain discount set, but I could be influenced by Diaclone colouring.

Are they though? War Within Shrapnel transformed into a flyer while Kickback transformed into a dragster. Not to mention the Backfiery mold seems to now be sporting a mono-eye.
Now, I know the Causality line has always homaged Decepticons, but is that a steadfast rule of the line? Right now we don't
know if these will even be part of the Causality line. Munitioner and Explorer jumped lines. They could be stand-alones, or perhaps the start of an Autobot line to oppose Causality.
Me? I say:
Thundershred --> Flak
Stormbomb --> Bigshot
Backfiery --> Kyrios Gundam
I dunno.

Yeah I'm still sticking to my call from a long time ago that these will be 3/4 of the Micromaster Battle patrol.
The retools lend themselves towards being great homages. Pics in the link for those not familiar with the battle patrol.

Hm. I see your points, but I think that the primary use of the molds, also given the name of the project, will be the War Within Insecticons.
This doesn't exclude a re-release in Battle Patrol deco and maybe retooling, though.

I'm kinda hoping they're not the War Within Insecticons more than anything. I want these molds bad, but I've no use for Insecticons that don't transform into insects given that 've already got CA-03 to 05. It'll all come down to the colours.
