Seems Keith is giving us a variant of the evil Rhinohorn too. This one will be made with purple translucent plastic.

Not of any interest to me I'm afraid. Where is Steeljaw?

Hey, fineally you can have an energon cube shoot out of Soundwave and turn into a robot!

Can't shoot out of G1 Soundwave (or Blaster for that matter). My understanding is it's too thick for the single cassette chest to hold.

True, you need to double wide cassette trey, which has been used in recent reissues.

It's incredibly lame that you need the double wide versions of the toy to hold the one casette. Even the BTS casettes got that part right.

Anyway, like most clear versions it looks nice enough. Can't say that I want it, though.

I tracked down our last comments to each other in the Boxbomber thread regarding this matter. I have a Rhinohorn in hand and just tried him out. He fits in G1 Blaster's chest cavity, but doesn't quite make completely into Device Label Blaster. I can't comment on G1 Soundwave as I don't have one on hand to test.

If you're looking to keep this guy in SG, he fits perfectly into SG Blaster.

Well, at least he can fit into G1 Blaster. I asked at TFW about G1 SW and they said he blocks the hook that's used to close the cavity, so no dice there. Obviously he can fit into SG Blaster, but I wonder if that can still use the two tapes feature that was supposed to be the entire point of having overlarge doors.

I actually mesh all my casettes together. Autobot, Decepticon and 3rd party are all in one display for me. And my benchmark for that is "it has to fit into G1 Soundwave". So this (and SteelPaw, based on the Eagle version) are big disappointments; I'm not sure they have a place there. I hope new moulds from these guys take player compatability into account, because Rhinohorn seems to be so close it hurts.

But it still seems like the regular version is good for my Neo G1 Movie collection, even if I might question their place in my casette display.

Tried out SG Blaster, two tapes CAN fit in the door but it will not close all the way. I tried Rhinohorn with a combination of G1 Laserbeak, MP LB, SG Ramhorn (was only fitting), BTS Rumble, etc. Just couldn't do it.

SG Soundwave, on the other hand, will fit Rhinohorn and another cassette. So I would imagine this also works on any "double decker" Soundwave out there.

As long as it can close somewhat, then it's acceptible. It's too bad this mould is such a disappointment in alt. mode. It really could have been the perfect Neo G1 Ramhorn, but between the labels (for SG and regular) and the *just slightly* too large tape mode it fails as a tape update. Not an utter fail, but a fail.

Well, the robot mode is more important and that works very well.

Id be weary of the use of clear plastic on this mold. I've heard the original garage kit was very delicate, so the idea of clear hinges seems scary. CHMS clear seekers were prone to the elbows cracking. And KFC is using the CHMS guys to make them.

On the mold itself, I'm gonna use it for my classics shelf, so I don't care about the tape mode fitting into the G1 or MP toys. My Takara FOC Soundwave has a combination of Hasbro, Perfect Effect, and BTS minions.
