was excited to hear about this, and the initial picture/silhouette suggested an IDW look for Prime. Hegemon got great reviews, and I need a Classics Prime, but not sold on these proto pics. It looks good, don't get me wrong, but I don't know if it looks that good. I imagine there must be plenty of articulation for the transformation alone, but doesn't look like there's much room to give a huge range of movement.

I'm not surprised if BBTS/TFSource don't carry this, since they didn't do Megatron. Guess I'll be keeping an eye on RobotKingdom or CapturedPrey.

Nice... but I'll pass. My Classics Prime is just fine.

Did they avoid Megs because of closeness to Hasbro, or because he was a gun toy (and needed a plug)?

It's not the first time they've done gun toys, G1 Megatron's passed through their vintage department numerous times, same with MP Megatron and the G1 Legends-size Megs.
I think it's their direct relationship with Hasbro preventing them from doing these exact homages. Remember how they cancelled their preorders for FOC Omega Supreme? I strongly suspect a similar reason.

That is pretty brave of Toyworld. Looks fantastic but I can see Hasbro coming down on this like a ton of bricks. Talk about extreme provokation!!!

Really? Have they done anything about their Megatron who is an exact G1 homage? (serious question, I really don't know if they have taken legal actions though I have not heard anything)
Still I would wait to see what Has/Task offers in terms of an IDW prime (besides the legions one)

Don't think anything will happen to Toyworld, but Has/Tak COULD release a voyager class IDW-inspired Optimus and that might force TW to cancel the figure if they assume a lack of sales.
And I would welcome a badass looking IDW-inspired OP from Has/Tak for about a 1/4th of the price of TW. Right now, Has/Tak only has a smaller-scale OP being released. If I buy both, will that make Has/Tak happy?

I agree. I posted this in another thread, but I really do think Hasbro is going to do an IDW voyager Prime and deluxe IDW Arcee, and unfortunately Toyworld and MMC will be out of luck....
I know the original classics Prime is loosely inspired by IDW already, but Hasbro just needs an excuse to make another Prime and 30th anniversary is as good as any.

If Hasbro does, it will likely be deluxe to match the deluxe IDW Megatron.

And even if they did make a Voyager, it'd probably be smaller. Doubt TW has much to worry about atm.

I don't really like the look from behind, but then I don't often buy toys to look at their bums. Not often.

Im sure Chimungmung will carry him. That's where I got Hegemon. Captured Prey stopped dealing with Toyworld last I read.

Kapow Toys have also stopped dealing with ToyWorld. Some of the other, larger retailers didn't even stay with them this long. Kapow's reason is poor communication. I wonder if maybe the company needs to get someone who can deal with those they're directly selling to?

The head doesn't do it for me, though. Shame, was considering this one too.
