SXS announces A-03 upgrade for Generations Blitzwing

Yep, the guys who brought you Fall of Cybertron weapons for Optimus Prime and Megatron are also making an upgrade pack for Generations Blitzwing! This set will include a G1 style head that does not spin like Animated, as well a rifle and missiles for the jet mode!
Personally I like this, as I'm not fond of Blitzwing-E-Faces.
BTW - Remember when people were preaching from the highest soap box that the new Generations toys would lead to the end of third party Transformers? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! There is always room from improvement.

Excellent the sooner the better i dont like those animated faces or animated blitzwing at all and the blaster he comes with is lame as hell.

What about the handgun Megs uses to shoot OP in the Movie? That was Blitzwing's right? If that was part of this set, I might bite.

Other than the missles, I'm not interested. I have no problem with the standard Blitzwing face (or the other two), and he already comes with a gun.

If SXS produces a slightly smaller head, this may solve the existing nosecone issue.

I don't really see a difference in the faces. but if it fixes the issue where it doesn't try to break the nosecone then I'll get it.

So what is the nosecone issue? Do people just not like the fact that it is not hard plastic?
Why is it an issue if it is not plastic?
I'm just curious because I haven't gotten the toy yet?

The spring on the head doesn't lock so it always pushes up against the nose cone in alt mode with the soft plastic it creates a gap and will wear out sooner or later.
EDIT: I don't have this guy yet either. But that's what I've heard.

video reviews have shown wear on the tab that holds the nose in to the main body, after only a few days. (less maybe) i'm no fan of the rubbery plastic at the best of times, but when it's use could result in a completely broken toy, I'd really rather shell out a few bucks for a hard plastic version.
other than that, not bothered about upgrading Blitzwing. The 3 faces gimmick does nothing for me, really, I imagine I'll leave him with the visored G1 look after having my first play about with him, but don't see any need to replace it.

I think this set would be awesome a new noscone woould be great but hopefully the head might fix that. I was hoping for maybe a transformable gun like his rifle that turns into a anti aircraft machine gun in tank mode like on a T72 or something just would make the tank mode that much better

Nah, I think it was just a generic pistol.
It's a nice little set, but the only way I see it being essential is if the new head does improve the situation with the nose cone.

sxs is making a new head, accessories for bliztwing. They intend to solve the issue on the shoulder as well.

Good to hear they are working on the shoulder problem.
BW's shoulders are terrible.
If the head isn't as tall, it'll solve the nose cone deal.
Not sure what others are reporting but the one I got, you can't even
Attaché the nose flush to the body, the locking mechanism is rubber,
So even if you get it to fit right, it pops off.
A plastic one would fix that.

A plastic one would fix that.
A heat gun and some gentle persuasion to move the plastic back into proper form looks to fix the shoulder issue. I have yet to find a decent solution for the nosecone, outside of a new head like this.

Just got Blitzwing....
All I can say is this kit can not come soon enough. I can live with the shoulder problems, but the head/nosecone issue is really ruining my appreciation for this toy.

I just received my POL with Blitzwing and I can attest that the soft plastic nosecone is a pain in the aft! What worries me the most is for those asking for a hard plastic nosecone, that the head is more susceptible to paint chipping. The two side pieces in the inner part of the nose cone must simply be friction based, as they don't really lock-in to any other part.
So, going back on this upgrade kit:
I don't think it's worthwhile ONLY if you want a 1-faced head instead of 3-faced, but if the head sculpt was shrunken down a bit it might help with the nosecone issue.
Gun might be cool if the handle is a little longer, the factory gun could benefit from an extra 1 or 2 mm.
Rocket packs would look nice in airplane mode, but not sure where it serves a purpose in bot mode. I guess you could keep them attached and choose not to pull in Blitz's side wings to bulk him up a bit.
Guess we'll have to wait and see some video reviews. But I'm still glad we're finally treated to a proper Blitzwing from Has/Tak.

I think I would like a hard nose cone, but it is attached by a pin not a screw, and I don't think I want to really go there. I'm not a pro at knocking a pin out.
I really think a smaller head is the way to go so the cone clears the head better.
I don't even want to touch my Blitzwing again until this set comes out. Jamming the cone over the current head is going to break something, and the yellow paint looks like it is prone to chipping and rubbing off.

The shoulder fix alone makes this worth it. But a new head and missiles are great, too.

Pre-ordered on the spot. The kiddie 3 face feature made the head bulbous. The gun is way more G1 as well. I just display my figures, but since people who actually play with them were complaining, the shoulder fix is a nice extra touch.
