Saw this on TFW. Have to see more pics. I'm not convinced the wide arms work for Superion as they do for Bruticus.

What we really need is an all-new Superion at that size.

Ever since I first laid eyes on Uranus, I never saw the FP version as Superion again. I use him as a totally different character with the energon versions of this mold.

I like Uranos, but I don't like his price or size. If I had more money I'd buy him, though.

I don't really see the need for this set, and I'm one of the people not interested at all by TFC's Superion work.

Selling Herc ? No love for Uranus ? I would think TFC's neo G1 aesthetic would be right up your alley ?

I don't miss the days of add on sets for crappy energon figures. While the individual TFC figures don't scale well with Hasbro figures, The combiner mode scale's are alot more cartoon accurate when side by side with classics. Im all for a TFC Bruticus in the future.

Honestly, when I look at Herc, I see a figure that was crafted out of cubes. There's no asthetics to him that I find pleasing. Everytime I see him I think "Why did I spent over $500 on this?"

I see Giant and I see more personality (and a fanged face, but that's easily fixed). I can appreciate the intracacies that went into the design that is lacking in Herc (IMO of course).

TFC did better with Uranus, but since I'm liking the FP/MakeToys scale better, I'll stick with the Superion I have until a better one in that size comes along.

I own Giant too. While I like combiner mode, I think the individual robots are too far off from G1 to go with classics. I agree with you that the Herc bots are a little boxy. But I like how they didn't deviate so far off from cartoon accuracy.

On scale, I kind of feel the FP combiner scale exists more out of convenience than cartoon accuracy. It was cool for a while to "upgrade" crappy energon sets into real combiners. But those energon molds were never really designed to scale with standard classics figures. In a perfect world, combiner bots would be about the size of classics cars or seekers with the leader being the size of a small voyager. I'm not crazy about TFC or MMC figures being so huge, but it's a lot better than the extremely small Car Crash and T-Bone scale. It replicates on thing I hated about G1 figures: The characters were the same height in the cartoon, but some got super small toys just to market to parents shopping on a budget. I remember mom at the toy store saying put down the box and pick one of those cards hanging on the wall. That's what FP scale reminds me of... :-(

Not interested in yet another add-on to this figure, I already have the FP upgrade kit. What this new kit does seems to give him a bit more beef, which could be fine for some but ruins my current Superion pose where he's holding the rifle with both hands. The only item I've yet to get for him (although I know it's already on ShapeWays) is the chest-filler.

Side topic: what's up with the proto head/gun on the Optimus Prime?

The chest filler is a must have for superion as it fixes his slouch and makes him look so much better. The best part is that since it is mostly hidden you really don't have to paint it or do really anything to it.

Not the best of photos to try and sell this thing whatever it is?

What am I looking at here? Something on the side of his combined head? Some new armpits?
A new abdomen/skirt?

Can someone please make this a little clearer what we are actually being offered here! >:oP

I'd be interested in this for sure - I already have the FP add-on and Shapeways filler but anything that brings this guy closer to the height of the other combiners is worth having.
