So if I'm not mistaken, this looks like it might be a stand-alone figure based on their own retooled version of the recent G2 Prime mold. I would guess that's why they might be limiting this to their online store versus traditional e-tail stores (getting into potential KO territory). That and they want to drive traffic to their site and increase the margins on their figures.
Hope they do a better job than the FPC mess.

I'll lose respect for Maketoys if they go down this road, so far they have made the most of official figures or have made their own. KO-ing existing Hasbro moulds should be left to the iGears of this world.

They won't be doing a KO of RTS Prime. It has been rumored that a remold/repaint of RTS Prime onto a white UltraMagnus and will probably be an Asia Exclusive release.

Then I may be interested in this. Asia Exclusives tend to price themselves out of my budget, but I am curious to see where this goes and how it looks.
I, too, was getting that icky KO feeling from this...

this looks sweet!! And if Maketoys sells it on their own site. It should be in JPY and based on today's rates prices should be reasonable.

Yeah, thanks for clarifying. Was really hard to tell the base figure--some bits looked the same while others looked new, especially in alt mode.
Looks like it could be really cool but in the end, it just may be out of my budget with everything else being released.

I'm interested in this, but unless they sell it through the normal channels it will be an automatic pass

Interested to see how much difference the new add-on makes. And maybe we're getting all armor pieces and not another battle station.
I'm surprised about 1). the announcement of a store front for MT and 2). the expected date of sale. MAYBE he meant to say that he expected pre-orders in June, not necessarily the product being released in June.

that robot, from the back, is quite definitely very heavily based on RTS Prime. People had a go at iGear for their using the same transformation as Hasbro's Warpath for the basis of their Impactor concept art, so I don't see how this is much different. Those are clearly Battle Tanker's boots. The arm add-ons look to be the same as those for BT as well. The inner robot is definitely a different mold from RTS Prime, but it looks to be different, only as much as Beast Hunters Wheeljack is from PRID Wheeljack.
Of course, I don't mind if it turns out to be an awesome looking Nova Prime. Wouldn't mind if they did something similar for their upcoming Scourge version of Battle Tanker actually, since it'd save me hunting for the TFCC version.

Thats what I thought but earlier in the thread daimchoc stated that the core robot is a forthcoming hastak repaint of the RTS Prime mould. So no blatant KOing from Maketoys just yet.

I think my brain's actually stalled on this one. I mean they couldn't be doing an add-on for an official product that hasn't even been announced, could they? And if it's their own modified version of the RTS G2 Optimus mold, couldn't they have ditched those base hands which look so unsightly from behind? Better still, just create a brand new figure. When I first saw the listing for this I was expecting a Chaos/Paladin style figure.

Amen. That was the very first thought I had.

Hey now... I said there was a rumor for a White RTS OP and/or UM. Let's wait and see if there's any new information.

This looks amazing

I always wanted some more Primes. I hope I end up being wrong but I see this item carrying a hefty price tag. I just hope Swerve manages to remain around the price of I-Gear Swerve.

According to the rep that was setting it up, the core figure is a heavily retooled custom based on the RTS Prime mold. The biggest being how the sholder assembly works and the fact that theor retool has ratcheting sholder joints.
Unfortunately that's all the info I could get before he got bombarded with qurstions about Computron.
