I own a lot of Third Party products, and for the most part incorporate them with official figures to fill in any gaps. This goes to Classics, Masterpiece, G1 add-ons, etc.

The only figures that currently don't fit in my current displays and deserve their own shelf are MMC's Hearts of Steel line. Just gotta reconfigure how I'm displaying everything.

Wish I could justify the expense for those, they look fantastic!

I was a late adopter of MMC, only picked up Knight Morpher Commander and Annihilator once the second versions were out. I forget if I got these came out before or after Cyclops (Shockwave) came out. For the Airborne Squad, I pre-ordered Screecher and decided to hold off on the other two. Picked up Stormer (TCracker) from RobotKingdom when it was about $45 (!!!) and still need to purchase Warper.

As with anything, it's a matter of priorities. For the past two years, I can't say that I've done a good job prioritizing my TF purchases and just picked up whatever was coming out. Unfortunately, due the realization that I'm spending above my means AND the sheer volume of Third Party offereings (and price) this year, I'm having to formulate a criteria in order to keep my expenses at bay. You should be able to understand that, as you've made the decision to pick up Genesis whereas I'm still holding off until my finances are better. I think we can call it an even "Gentlemen's Envy".

Honestly, I love the design of the Knight Morpher collection. They really are unique compared to anything else from the past 30 years. And the decision to go with MMC, a company which had its bad moments but learned from them, seems to be a no-brainer. I'm extremely pumped about their offerings in the next year, and the value to cost of their figures is some of the best in the business.

The only products that I usually hesitate to pick up are the weapons upgrades. I do own quite a few from various companies, but when you're paying $10 - 20 just for a gun or sword it really makes you think that you could be doing better picking up a full figure for the same price (obviously not a Third Party figure). Now, if a company would create a package of accessories (re: TFC's Gear of War sets, Junkion Blacksmith's Infinity set, etc), then I think the consumer is usually getting a decent deal. I'm still sour that various problems happened and we're not going to be treated to the Workshop's FOC Grimlock upgrade suite (head, gun, sword, and underbelly), and I'm having a difficult time justifying purchase of JUST a new head and a choice of lightpiping color. But you just can't win everything. I'm also very admanant that CrazyDevy's pricing for their upgrade kits is over the top, yet I still found it in my heart to buy the ones for Predaking and Pirahnacon. I was thrilled about the Devastator upgrade sets that other companies were coming out with, because it was a one-shot deal and a heck of a lot cheaper than buying from CD. Unfortunately, I believe most of them turned out to be crap.

So, I've probably gone on longer than most people care to read, but I think it's important that the consumer realize what they are purchasing and to understand what the value means to them as an individual. I don't have a "Third Party Shelf", but I do have a few shelves (and even more storage containers) filled with an investment. This investment is to have the best looking robots as possible. I hope most of you can at least appreciate that, if not actually living that now.

Can easily understand that. Making the decision to get Genesis as my Neo-Classics Omega Supreme meant that I couldn't make any purchases outside of my main collecting lines. Making sure you don't spend above your means with all the great stuff being released is difficult at the moment.

 Well put!

The uniqueness is what attracts me, especially with Cyclops. It's a shame I'll most likely never get them.
