Impossible Toys posted this:
page7Thanks to all for the emails showing your support it is appreciated. Also we were made aware of the comments made on certain sites positive and not so positive. We are sorry we could not go in the direction some of you wanted but we tried our best to stay true to what we like, Did we make mistakes yes but we started out just trying to make things as fans we like and thought other fans might also like some obscure characters that would never be made, Making toys is not as easy as some might think and us being the first 3rd party company to make a entire new figure we were bound to make mistakes along the way, But its good other groups can learn from our mistakes on what fans want. Our products are made to tie in with G1 collections and when making them we wanted fans to put our toys on a G1 display and have them fit well, Todays toys look very different and that is the direction other groups take but we wanted to stay true to G1. To answer your questions on the Tetra Squadron toys head and legs is simple. The toys were already made before we announced them, The legs we could not make longer because it would not allow the toy to transform correct and allow for stability in robot form. Also we added picture below of our last releases that we will try our best to release, I am sure you can tell who the toys are. Also we will try to fill the preorders on the Tetra Squadron and Allicon toys that have been placed prior to the next few weeks with what stock there will be left. We will do our best to continue reply to all of your emails as fast as we can.
Seems they have Legends size Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, a Yellow Cliffjumper, Bumper, Glyph, Goldbug, Tap-Out and Wasp in the works. There is also someone who looks like Bumblebee but colored like Rosanna???

More reasons why they failed

They seem to only be making Bumblebee, though.
I really wanted IT to succeed because I liked how they gave us the Quints and others who received no toy. But someone really should have taken a step back and said "this is not the kind of aesthetic that will sell."

The worst they could do is show a comparison between one of them next to a modern better figure that does something similar oh wait they did.
This shows perfectly why they failed, they essentially made G1 toys with slightly more articulation, which is something that is pretty unappealing.
The hard-core G1 collectors hate articulation, and the people who love articulation usually want better looks on top of the articulation, by doing this they isolated both the G1 purists and 98 % of the target audience of 3rd Party products.
A shame really, they where the first manufacturer to professionally produce these things and now they're dead while CrazyDevy lives.

You guys want something a little more Hasbroish ? Theres plenty of Camaro Bumblebees coming out for you guys to spend your hard earned dollars on. I always liked impossible toys. They've nailed it countless times for obscure characters on my classics shelf. Sure they are slavish to the G1 cartoon and are not marketable to 5 year olds who like race cars. But for me, it's just freakin awesome to get articulated figures of characters Hasbro will never make and if they did they would probably just screw up.
Body wise, I think this looks better than the renders we have seen for the Igear Bumblebee. I just wish it had a whole head and it wasn't so damn small. I would love to get that Glyph and Tap Out just for kicks.

I believe the white/purple deco is supposed to be Bugbite.

I liked the choices of characters they did. The execution though? Not so much. I have their Exo-suit Spike and Daniel and they're okay. I got them on sale so they weren't a major disappointment for the price I paid. At the full original price I'd be raging. Those Bee-types are ass, especially given the comparison to that Seaspray (the iGear one?) and their other offerings have been poor for the prices charged. They might be one of the first, and it's always kinda sad to hear about people failing in ventures, but it's pretty damn clear why they did.

TFSource has opened preorders for all 8 these.
I just can't see these being $30 toys.

To be honest, I just can't see them being $10 toys...
Hope TFsource isn't getting too many of them.

$29.99 is a little on the high side, but were not talking Rolex money here. It's P2P guys. Anyways, no BBTS pre-orders up yet ?

$30 isn't a lot for a 3rd party toy, even of this size. If it's done well.
$30 is not a "reasonable" price for these.

Yeah, it's difficult to justify $30 for these guys. And thinking that they've actually made ALL these different variations of the mold... just like with the tetrajets, too much at one time.
RIP Impossible Toys, and thanks for the memories.

Dude, Protector's Targetmaster cost 10 bucks, and he's the same size as these things, made of much better plastic (this is IT we're talking here after all the shoddy plastic is part of the package), and he's more complex.
That P2P thing only really works for when people complain about something being really expensive but desirable at the same time, these are just expensive. Even iGear charged less for their Legends Class Bumblebee and Cliffjumper, and that included shipping! But it was still too expensive so iGear stopped repainting it and lowered the price.
If I where you I would wait a couple of months and get them once they're reduced to a more justifiable price, like with everything else IT has ever made that wasn't the Quint 01.

I totally agree with you on holding out for a clearance price. But all I really want is Glyph and Tapout. If they are produced in limited quantities, I wont hesitate to drop the 60 bucks on just these two. Theyre the most desirable characters because nobody has touched them yet. All the other characters have been done by Hasbro, Funpub, or a 3rd party add on kit.
Also, I believe these are the same scale as Igear Rager/Spray which is a lot bigger than FP Sidearm for Protector.

I highly doubt it, since Impossible Toys
went under a few months ago.

They were in the process of going under when they announced these sets. It was like a last "hurrah" for them. I don't believe we've heard anything contrary to still being released, maybe just not "on time".

That farewell letter seems so Condescending to other 3rd party companies. Whatever happened to going out with some decency & class.
I never bought any of IT's toys. They just didn't appeal to me. I'd never pay $30 for a Legends sized toy.
IT,lost appeal because they refused to conform & cater to what todays 3rd party buyers wanted. Other 3rd parties lowered there prices, increased detail & size. While IT stayed the same way.
In the bad economy those who are charging more for items are the first to go belly up. Impossibe toys was over charging for there stuff & they knew it. The seasoned 3rd party buyer was on to IT's game & was already shopping elsewhere.
These days, buying the bigger 3rd party TF toys offer the better deals. Like Hexatron,Quakewave & BTS Nova Lord.

Well i bought most of their stuff and never complained about the price. Sometimes I wonder where some of you guys work. Ive never seen so many people that claim to be strapped for cash participate in such an expensive hobby. If the day ever comes that I had to worry about wasting 30 bucks, I would quit collecting.

If someone doesn't find value in something why should they buy it? Just because they can? Why waste the money?

I doubt many people here can't literally afford it. If they wanted to, I'm sure most have the actual ability to buy it. Just because people think these are too pricy for what they are doesn't really mean they lack the actual ability to grab it, just that it's priced too high for what it is.
Anyways, while I still do like most of what IT produced, I hope they don't waste their time trying to get these out. Way, WAY too niche.
