:D
Cheeky teaser poster has gone up over on Weibo.com announcing all new 3rd Party company Clone Droid and some silhouette images of what suggests itself to be either an update of upgraded parts for G1 Overlord, Sixshot and Motormaster!

Something more than silhouettes are gonna have to happen for me to even consider these. Third party companies need to end this needless tease of the products. At least give us test shots of the product so we have a good idea of the product. If it looks good, then more people are more likely to get it and less will complain of the tease.

Especially if said company is new to the third party scene...

I think expecting a Test Shot at announcement is unrealistic. Computer renders or concept art, sure. I'm not bent out of shape by the silhouettes like you guys seem to be. You aren't worse off for seeing them so why does it bother you so much? It's funny, I get more irritated at the obligatory silhouette complaint posts than I do about the silhouette.

As for the sillhouette:

"We will improve the original items and update the accessories that you can get more advantages. Clone Droid toys, Always be your side."

Motormaster: update the leader or the whole Menasor gestalt in the style of CrazyDevy and others?

Overlord. How many people have Overlord? How many of those people would replace anything on it with updates? Answer: You don't mess with a grail.

Sixshot: I'm holding my G1 Sixshot now, nothing you can do to give him more articulation. This toy kinda sucks. Eh, he's alright. Certainly has its charm.

If these are G1 toy updates to modernize or make more show accurate, that's not really my thing. All three figures have been given modern updates from BTS, FP and MMC, are these accessories to make those figures more G1 (cartoon or toy)? That I could be interested in. I'm not at all opposed to "4th party" addons.
I'll be keeping an eye on these projects. Should probably give each figure their own thread as info is revealed.

I'm confused by the line at the bottom: "We will improve the original items and update the accessories...." Seems to be upgrade kits, a la Crazy Devy, but the silhouettes seem to say new figures.

This teaser is very lackluster. Clone Droid (now known as "the other CD") is going to produce new figures of characters we're about to get anyways:
- Sixshot: MMC's Hexatron is out in the wild now, with the majority of buyers getting their copy in the next few days/weeks.
- Motormaster: FP's "M3", which for all intents has been said to be released in September; realistically I'd give it Oct/Nov.
- Overlord: Didn't FunPub do this at BotCon '12? I kid, I kid (yet I still have that figure)! BTS wouldn't be my first choice of releasing a full-on figure, but we've seen prototypes of it for a few months now.

So, these figures need to be pretty damn impressive if they want to get out the gate.

I'm not really bent out of shape, more just...meh...about this. Based on the characters, I'd like to get excited, but what is this really all about?

I think this analysis is spot on. If this is indeed just add-ons, Crazy Devy style, then I'll stop following right now. If it's fresh builds, then I would definitely like to see more.

Wow, where did this picture of Overlord come from? Is this connected to the Overlord project months ago using the Gi Joe/Cobra jet?

Overlord is a BTS offering called Nova Lord. There was a thread for it a long time ago, then someone unknowingly started a new one here.

How DARE you!!!! Just kidding :P.

So yeah, another CrazyDevy? Seriously, 1 CrazyDevy is 1 too many in my opinion. With all of the new Generations stuff and 3rd party stuff these days, I don't think there are too many collectors still looking to 'update' or 'improve' their original G1 figures with third party add-ons. It used to be cool when there were no newer alternatives to the G1 figures, but these days if a newer, more articulated version of a G1 figure/character doesn't already exist, just give it a little time and it'll happen.

Overlord has great detail but too huge for my taste.
