That is a cool idea I would definatly be interested in this set for the right price. To take the set one step further it would be cool to make the G1 blaster you could attach to the original toy ;) .

Not my cup of tea. What is he supposed to be a flame throwing superhero ? Give me a G1 hand cannon and a real gun for the other hand.

No dude Trailbreacker was a defensive strategist he always had a forcefield this set is replicating him using the force field. It is really cool and gives fans the ability to display him in a new unique way.

It's useless, Rated X will never ever ever get the concept of non-G1 characters. [-(

Last time I checked, Trailbreaker was a G1 character. Sure IDW had a ball with the G1 cast. But nothing beats the original.

I think I have you on a technicality, this time.

The character's, and figure's, name is Trailcutter. Image

That's really grasping. Sure, the name is NOW Trailcutter, but that's only for losing the rights to the name Trailbreaker. Same character, not an homage, not someone who just happens to look like Trailbreaker.

Anyways, this set is kinda neat. I don't see myself ordering one, but I hope there are folks out there that are pleased with this release.

Well, the set makes sense, since the toy is based on the idw incarnation and this set just brings him closer to it.
I like it.

True. But isn't "Trailcutter" just a "We couldn't get the license for Trailbreaker" type of name by Hasbro? Isn't he named Trailbreaker in the IDW comic?

On the upgrade set itself, I recall G1 Trailbreaker emits his force field through something on his back in the cartoon as seen in the famous Rainmakers scene. Having it shoot from his hands is way too super heroish for me. As you can imagine, I’m not an avid comic book reader, mainly because I hate superheroes.

No his name is Trailcutter in the comics.

The toy is supposed to be idw Trailbreaker/ Trailcutter, this set gives him his signature ability and further reflects his comic incarnation. There is nothing to complain about here at all. It's a comic accurate accessory set for a comic character.

You want a more G1 accurate thing? Check shapeways.

And comics aren't just Superheroes, that like saying I don't watch TV because I hate documentaries.

I'm down for this, needs a gun though. But I feel the same about this set as I do about Dr Wu's prime upgrades: put them all in a set! The crossbows for Hoist and Substreaker from Hoist's issue too, and other stuff too..! Do an IDW pack or something.

And as we all read, Trailcutter was given his name by Whirl! He's still Trailbreaker deep down.

I get what your saying. But I'm not the only person calling for add-ons to make Hasbro "Trailcutter" more G1 cartoon accurate. Read the "Things 3rd parties should make" thread. It's been suggested by others.

I never said all comic books are superheroes. As a teen, I loved me some Dark Horse comics. From what I've seen of IDW's work, they're like the new Dark Horse. But even with some good stuff out there, when you think comic books it's hard not to picture the stereotypical men wearing tight spandex costumes with weird powers. Either that or bubble gum stuff like Archie and Jughead. That's just a conclusion a majority of non-comic book readers would think. Not saying it's 100% accurate. It is what it is.

My, we are a passionate bunch of plastic toy lovers, aint we!

Nice to hear Beelzeboss are back with something new.

This looks like a cool set for Trail* (blazer;breaker;cutter - *delete as necessary).

So we will be getting a pair of replacement hands and transparent 'force shield' to stand in front of the figure... I just hope this set is priced under the £14/$20 price tag or I will be giving this set an unfortunate miss? :-?

The Truck/vehicle is based on the Chevy Trailblazer. The character is Trailcutter in IDW, and the name Trailbreaker is the one from G1.

Yea, this should be fairly cheap, unless they decide to include the back-mounted missiles.
Just realized, the two pics of the toy is just Trail-thingy with artwork of the hands and shield, until now I thought it showed prototypes.

Here's the thing, you came in here complaining about it while failing to understand what it is, then once it's been explained to you, you keep going on arguing why you're right. Seriously, it's getting old real old.
Whenever you don't understand something or have no idea what it is, you complain and bitch, and when it's explained to you you keep on bitching and complaining and arguing your point as if you even had one to begin with, the most hilarious one being Hasbro "stealing" the more accurate MP Starscream from iGear.

Adn you said you don't read comics because you hate Superheroes, which is just as stupid as me stating I don't watch TV because I hate documentaries. It's right there in the quote tree and in your original post, so don't try to pass it off as if I misinterpreted what you said, I am after all not you.

Dude go look at any SDCC youtube video and tell me what you see ?

You see people dressed as superheroes. You can sugarcoat it all you want, but the bottom line is most people associate comic books with superheroes. The non- suoerhero comic books are in the minority. They DO exist, but there’s no sidestepping the fact that they take a backseat to superheroes in the comic book industry.

On to “Trailcutter”. There’s a big difference about arguing because I don’t understand something, and arguing because I think something’s silly. In this case, once I finally understood the concept, I still thought it was silly. The teaser looks like he is about to shoot fire out his hands, superhero style. Only an avid IDW reader would know otherwise.

On the Igear MP seeker mods:

Igear was the first one to get the mods into production so they get the credit. The fact that Takara actually created them first before a samurai loving designer changed them is irrelevant. By the time Hasbro took them back, a lot of people including myself had already associated Igear as being the MP seeker savior. Needles to say when Takara came out with the mods, many people who didn’t know the history assumed Has/Tak decided to play Igears own game by stealing molds. And I actually thought that would have been pretty cool on Has/Tak’s part.

You read into words too deeply my friend. Try looking past the word for word verbatim content to get the actual message when you read my posts.
