Ok scary. But not unexpected considering they already KOed Sideswipe.
On the same page I found this:

Yup, MP-10 is getting KO'd as well, but with updates. I thought someone had created a thread here on Seibertron.com for that... ;)

Think I saw a listing on Ebay out of China for MP Sideswipe for 40 bucks. save to say it's a KO?

I love the MP Sideswipe mold (once Id got him fixed!) but wasnt taken as much with the Red Alert version because of the fake wheels on his shoulders, but picking one of these KOs up at a fraction of the price would be just fine now!

Heck, may even pick up the KO/factory reject of Tigertrack which are also being offered now. :-?

Are these Red Alert KOs any good?

My hope is that Takara will do another production run (hopefully with a few tweaks) for the original price; but if not then I don't plan to get a genuine MP-14 for $110 at the moment.

I just posted a pic in the KO thread before I noticed it had it's own :)

yeah, it's an ok KO, smelled and felt oily coming out of the box. It's ok after wiping off and getting some air. Joints are tight. The head lid on mine doesn't shut tight though.

Pics of the KO MP14 Red Alert :

about the box. printing is not as sharp as the original. box however has a sheen / semigloss like quality just like the ko mp sideswipe's box.

I got my MP-14 KO today!

Wow, the Lambor mold looks really nice in person. Like I just said in another thread, this is how a robot that transformers into a car should look like. Looking forward to the Sideswipe reissue. (Might get a genuine Red Alert if they'll reissue that, too. Hopefully, with some tweaks to make him look more on model and further different than Sideswipe.)

I don't have a real MP-14 to compare but, a few notes:
His left shoulder doesn't rotate to the side. Is there any way to fix this?
The car's bumper doesn't appear to lock in alt-mode.
Aside for a tiny flaw under "cantach" the paint seem perfect.

KO MP-14 Red Alert arrived yesterday (dodgy picture below!!) and the grand unboxing will happen this evening when I get home from work!

Managed to snag one for the small sum of £24.04 via one of the many China based Ebay sellers, although I was getting a little worried as I got an email from Paypal/Ebay saying they had pulled the listings and that I shouldnt pay for the item if I hadnt already done so! #-o

Despite my reservations in using the glut of China based Ebay sellers, and the issues I had with MP Sideswipe being built incorrectly, I am pleased I now have two Lambos of classic characters in a Masterpiece stylee for less than £50 overall! ;)

I got the same message but only after Red had arrived. The seller's store transformed from selling toys to mobile gadgets.

Yesterday I managed to transform Red Alert from car to robot without using the instructions at all! :D I also discovered those inner panels that lock the lower legs tight.

It's amazing how they engineer these Masterpieces to accommodate both an actual car model form, as well as a cartoon accurate robot mode. And so posable.

(though Red is somewhat less cartoon accurate.)

If some of you are having issues with RA's shoulders, you can fix them...

Image

You have to force the shoulders up and out a bit. Just be gentle with it. I had to clean mine as there were some residue. Also, you have to file the corner a bit to let the arm to go out.

Now, my RA can do this.. ;)
