Same - that's one attractive Classics Ratbat.

I don't like that it's $75 for a 3rd Party deluxe whose mold is the same as the previous release. Yawn.

Soooooooo not interested in the Soundwave. Even if I was in the market for a third party Soundwave, and even if I wasn't stuck on him being a tape player, I would be hard pressed to find any interest in a Soundwave who suddenly has alt modes associated with Perceptor.

That being said, I could use a Classics style Ratbat, and I think it'd be a damn shame if he wasn't made available separately. I won't hold my breath on it... but if it did happen, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.

Well... both are pretty much useless to me. Music Label Soundwave is my Classics Soundy. And PE put out a good Ratbat for me a while ago. There was also that recolor from that two-pack a bit ago...

What a lazy, half-assed attempt to give consumers a 3rd Soundwave.

I gotta agree. At least Sonicron allowed for cassettes to fit in his chest.

I'm honestly just wishing someone would make a deluxe Soundwave based on his retro design at this point.

I'm still using the MusicLabel figures. I've found no better representation, even if it cannot hold cassettes.

Ratbat looks okay, but Soundwave is following KFC's usual "release pointless crap that transforms into random shapes" policy =;

The closest thing to a transformer these guys have made is Ironpaw/Nightstalker. I'll buy Nightstalker, and only Nightstalker, if BBTS put him on clearance.

Gimme Badbat. I need to replace BTS Ratbat as it is pretty crap. As for the Soundwave homage, Music Label destroys this piece of junk.

Well, if there's another I can think of two other possible colours. Soundblaster with Wingthing and Shattered Glass with SG Ratbat.

I'd want all those Ratbats, but none of the Soundwaves.

I doubt he'll replace FoC Soundwave as my Classics version(Music Label never fit to me, doesn't have the same aethetics in my eyes and I'd prefer a more useful altmode for an updated 'Wave), but he'll look good on my Soundwave shrine shelf.

It seems to be impossible to buy a nice Ratbat without getting stuck paying for a Soundwave that you dont want. As cool as this looks, Id rather just pay a bit more for the MP Soundwave. I use the MP cassettes for Classics anyways. They all scale perfect by G1 cartoon standards.

Swing 'n' a miss, Keith. Why would you bother to make a load of cassette Transformers and then release a version of their master that can't contain them? Admittedly this version of Soundwave has a pretty good robot stature, but like Yotsuyasan said, it's not cool to have one that has Perceptor's alt-modes. Soundwave deserves better.

I can barely believe that with all the Soundwaves we've gotten over the past few years I'm still waiting for a decent Classics version.

Soundwave does not turn into a cassette player anymore. Not in the comics, not in the movies. If we can accept Generations/United Perceptor turning into a car (well sort of) or Bumblebee being a camaro even in its G1-continuity-familiy incarnation, why can't we seem to let the cassette deck go?

KFC has being releasing cassette-bots intented to be compatible with MP Soundwave. WfC (deluxe) and FoC (voyager) Soundwave don't turn into cassette decks nor are able to hold any of those. I'm personally glad that current comics don't have to put up with an 80s toy alt mode. I like Megatron as a tank, Fort Max as a tank (of sorts, yeah), and Soundwave as cybertronian car (or whatever). These guys were born (forged, constructed, heh) to be able to change alt modes when necessary. Why do we care SO much for that one specifically? I know it's iconic and all, but you already have MP Soundwave for holding cassettes.

I personally also love Takara Generations Ratbat as a full-size deluxe figure, by the way... and I don't think he or even Ravage turn into cassettes or even data-discs (whatever they are) in the current ongoing comics. We know Rewind doesn't.

That being said, I don't think I'll be buying this mold again. I mean, I actually like the way this Soundwave looks in robot mode, but I already bought KFC's not-Magnificus and I'm REALLY happy with it... but just as Magnificus. For Soundwave I already have the Takara (deluxe) one from WfC, which I liked so much better than the newer voyager one with its gorilla-like body and data discs gimmick... which was not impressive at all in my opinion.

So yeah, I'm happy with Senator Ratbat, KFC's Magnificus and deluxe cybertronian Soundwave on my shelf. I like the cassettes but I don't dismiss a good toy just because I miss that gimmick.

For me, it's the difference between an official portrayal and a 3rd Party product. I can let go of Soundwave being a tape deck, but if you're going to make a Soundwave, at least hew to one of his official alt modes. And if you're going to make cassettes for the Soundwave you make, make sure they're compatible.

I too, have WFC Soundwave (the Hasbro version - the Takara version is too purplish for me), and love it. Between Music Label, WFC, and MP Soundwaves, you have to pull off something fairly unique to do the character justice. Unfortunately, this isn't it.

From KFC

Mugan Vox

Part of the Mugan Clan, Vox is an absolute master of deception and manipulation.
With his ability to record and edit all conversations internally, Vox has a talent which can readily be used against the enemy, and he often plays “both sides against the middle”, or should that be all sides? For the gangs of E.A.V.I. Metal are many.
His talents on the battlefield are legendary, but more-so because he controls the flow of information than for his talents as a warrior; although his skills are above par. Indeed, he prefers to use others to do his dirty work for him, and is not above recruiting / bullying minions into these positions, going so far as to use blackmail to achieve his goals. He has often pondered about the possibility of binding minions to his body in some way, so they could always be on hand should he need them.
Vox is not without weakness however; without a central pillar of leadership, he is often at a loss of what to do with his talents. Out of sheer boredom, he sometimes turns his allies in the Mugan clan against themselves for his amusement. This has caused fractures so divisive, they have threatened to tear the clan apart.

Bad Bat

Bad Bat exists in two universes. In one he is still a free agent, trying to survive the Clan warfare destroying the planet. In the other he is bound to Vox, trapped in a cassette form and vowing to one day be free.

I don't need him to be a cassette deck, I just can't accept him as a microscope.
