Japanese Trilogy 3rd party offerings

Wish I had a few more "odd ball" TF's to fill up the shelves with instead of the multiple gestalt offerings(choices are nice I must say though...but we still need Abominus ;) )

Classics is my aesthetic flavor for my shelves as is a lot of you guys and gals, I'd love to expand past season 1-4 characters and really get a true TF universe vibe.

What Japanese trilogy characters would you like to see accompany the few headmaster/ginrai homages we've gained?

BTS is set to release Nova Lord in March 2013. MMC will be releasing there version of Overlord in 2014 called Carnifex.

Last year,There was a 3rd party company that was going to do a huge kit of attachments add on parts to turn Cybertron dark Scorponok into a better looking Masterforce Black Zarak. Nobody has heard anything regarding this getting made in almost a year.

FP is going to be releasing a Quickswitch. Many assume the inevitable MF Sixknight recolor is around the corner.

MMC Did release a Sixshot. the character was in rebirth & Headmasters.
MMC showed pics of greatshot but nothing has come of that yet.

MMC promised to release there version of quickswitch. many assume it will get recolored into sixknight colors.

FP & TW are doing all those Headmasters figures. which can be considered rebirth & headmasters toys.

Last year,it was teased that Apeface would be getting made. nobody knew if this meant just the headmaster or the full big figure.

I suspose FP Warden can go through a few recolors. in possible Headmasters & MF colors. Maybe with extra added parts.

We have a Godbomber on the way.

[Edit] And I think PE promised a Scorponok after Warden is out.

So by Japanese Trilogy, you mean toys representing characters seen in Masterforce and Victory and Zone?

BTS teased a Nova Lord.
FansProject teased a Minerva.
Headrobots made Garrison, who is based on Masterforce Grand Maximus.
Mastermind Creations is making an Overlord.
MasterShooter Collectibles made toys representing several of the Godmaster humans.
Xovergen made a Super Ginrai trailer and is making a Godbomber.

Personally I'd love it if someone would make add-on sets for the various gestalts to look more like their Zone versions. I want a cape and a drill for Hercules!

Well, there are tons of 3P stuff from Headmasters, but I'd assume he means characters exclusive to Headmasters that didn't appear in the US G1 cartoon?

I'd assume he means Everything from Rebirth & Headmasters.

Given the author of the thread is Ginrai Minor and he used "Japanese" in the title... Image

Has Shout mentioned anything about Zone? Currently, on Amazon, it's the Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory 'toons that are listed as the Japanese Trilogy.

He says things past season 1-4. I wouldn't bother listing things in this thread that appeared in any US TV series up to and including The Rebirth.

Here are some more that come to mind:

FansProject is making a Quickswitch/Sixknight.

Headrobots teased an Apeface. They also made that Cobra headmaster based on unused Takara concept art from Headmasters.

iGear made toy based on Micromaster Tote, and teased one based on Fixit. iGear also made TFcon Shafter, who is based on Micromaster Erector.

Justitoys made a Greatshot.

KFC had a cassette version of Flywheels. The made a cassette based on Nightstalker and one based on Wing Thing.

Mastermind Creations teased a Greatshot and Quickswitch/Sixknight. They are also making a guy based on Pretender Catilla.

Mech Ideas had a custom class set of Decepticon Clones.

Renderform made a sword for Botcon Metalhawk and rifle for Botcon Gigatron.

Reprolabels has a set of labels that turn Ultra Powerglide into Micromaster Hothouse.

X-Transbots did a guy based on Micromaster Hothouse.

I'm gonna count Headmasters characters that also made appearances in Rebith. Because the OPs thread instructions just seem a bit odd.

At some point,I would like HasTak or 3rd Party toys for Apeface & Snapdragon. At the Voyager or Eight inch scale. They need to be Tripple changers & Have there Headmasters gimmick.

I just think most of the 1987 toys that appeared exclusively in Headmasters are less in demand than the ones that appeared in Rebirth. Raiden might get done around 2016-2017 when most 3rd party companies are done making the more in demand G-1 Combiners.

The monsterbots were weird sculpts so they are on my low priority list.

Probably not what you were looking for, but there was some talk about recoloring the KFC ape and t-rex molds to be colored like Apeface and Snapdragon as a 2-pack. Also, recoloring the bat mold as Mindwipe.

I'm not interested in these.

That makes two of us. I'm not interested in the swath of money-grabbing repaints KFC is proposing, I want proper figures.

That's a bit harsh. I understand they are not for everyone, but Keith basically offers low cost repaints into every characters whose alt mode is similar.

That means the ape mold will probably be recolored as Optimus Primal, Apeface, and any other gorilla Transformer. A T-rex mold will be made into Grimlock, BW Megatron, Snapdragon, and any other T-Rex transformer they can find.

Some fans will want these weird repaints, and they can buy it. I wouldn't call it money-grabbing. It's just them making lots of products from the couple molds the have. Pick and choose what you want from them.

BW Megatron is probably about the same size as a G1 Cassette though, in cartoon scaling.

Beastwars CGI Cartoon scale was all screwed up. no matter the alt mode, most of them were roughly all the same size.

Yeah, but clearly they were all tiny compared to the G1 bots they encountered. Cassette size might be a touch small for comparison, but I don't think it is far off. I seem to remember seeing someone on Prime's chest and there was a great size difference.

Now I gotta go get those episodes and watch again. End of season 2, right? Beginning of Season three? Man, it's been too long. Maybe I have to watch them all again. My son'd love that!

Horrorcons--I had Apeface as a kid, he was one of the coolest g1 toys I think i ever had. Lots of playability.

Liokaiser--This guy is just so involved and complex, and the design is really cool. Individual bots are cool too.

Raiden--I just found out about him, but I think he is already my favorite autobot combiner. Kind of reminds me of Voltron or something with the design.

I made this topic just to see who you guys wanted see made that doesn't already have a good classics style representation.

-Dec/Autobot Target Masters
-Deathsaurus
-Horrorcons
-Star Saber
-Victory Leo
-Liokaiser
-Dia Atlas
-Black Shadow(bigger version, but the hasbro head sculpt does look great!)
-Blue Bakkus

-cape and crown kit to turn my gestalts into the generals of destruction in reference to Zone!

Takara is already in the process of creating a MP Starsabre. This will probably get released in 2015. Takara Will probably also create a MP Victory Leo as they are both combiners.

If you've got a Hobby shop that also sells crafts. You can create your own Capes & Crowns for those Zone Zombie Transformers. This would be cheaper than paying 3rd party prices.

Just finished off the last 2 Japanese series.

Anything from Headmasters are good designs, but for Masterforce I think aside from the Leaders of each faction, which are awesome, I like the designs of:

Hydra
Metalhawk
Road King -- AKA -- Slapdash
Blood -- AKA -- Bombblast
Dauros -- AKA -- SkullGrin
Horri-Bull -- AKA -- Bullhorn
Fangry -- AKA -- Wilder
WIngwaver, but probably because he looks like an Aerialbot.
Chestforce -- LioKaiser combinded is just okay to me, but I like all individual bots a lot, including Deathcobra!
Stakeout

Is Victory worth watching after the first disc , iv'e watched about four episodes this week and finding it a bit hard to watch , it might just be the unfamiliar characters im not sure .

I'm still plugging my way through too. The first two series went quick for me and held my interest. Victory is not doing the same for me. It's been so long since I watched it. I wonder where I am, actually. I don't think I got much beyond the first 4 episodes. If anyone can say that it gets better, I know I'd appreciate hearing that. I'll watch it through once, for sure...

I felt Victory was the worse of the Trilogy.
