Well, the title says "MP". But couldn't that be an assumption? If these were really MP, why put Grimlock up there? I'd love voyager or (even better) Ultra scale Dinobots.

Why are they called power master? they don't look like they can transform into engines.

Thats what I was thinking. Nowhere on the teaser does it say MP scale. The word master is very generic, it could mean anything. So theres still hope. Im hoping theyre smart enough not to loose sales just to compete with fanstoys. Make em classics , pure win !

It doesn't say that. It says:
Giga Power
Master Robots

You know, I wasn't going to get ANY other MP Dinos, but all these pics are really tempting.
But, no matter which comes out first, I may just wait a good long while to see how they stack up next to each other. If we're lucky they'll all colour match well.

At first glance, I liked the design. But after studying him - I am not so fascinated. He lacks a foot for posing, and the back of the thigh looks to limit posing as well. The bot mode leg looks to borrow MP Grimlock's transformation but incorporates the head instead of tail. The plates on the legs look fragile as well.

What gap are these trying to fill, initially I was quite exited by these as I figured they were Classics orientated but based on the prototype image they look to be Masterpiece figures, if so whay are they doing Grimlock?

Nope, he doesn't. He is severely lacking in cartoon accuracy
The head, chest, arms and legs are all wrong. Might be toy accurate (couldn't be bothered digging out my G1 Snarl to check), but the MP line isn't about toy accuracy.

OK, so it's going for the wrong look. Doesn't mean it doesn't look good.
EDIT: Are you even sure about that? The differences between the toys and the animation for the Dinobots is pretty negligible. It's not like he's got the head of his dino-mode of the outside of his legs.

Yep this is toy accurate as you can tell by the head arms and legs . I guess this is the rout GP are taking.
Not exactly MP but MP scaled , this is a nice looking figure .

A couple of things i took notice of with the cartoon is the head it looks to be more of a horn were as the toy has stumps.
The chest is similar to the G1 toy the shape/angle of it and they have sculpted the cross hair type decal design on the clear plastic and there the six pack

Yeah, fair enough. That's all minor differences in my book. Besides, it's not like MP Grimlock is completely show-accurate. Plus I've ever really liked Snarl's head in the cartoon.

So someone has a test shot but deliberately held off on not posting any size scale info

Sorry,Simply saying it's MP,Isn't enough. Especially when MP TF's these days comes in so many sizes.
Is it really so hard to post a pic of the test shot next to a HasTak toy we all know. So we can figure out a scale for this toy.

Yep, Autobot Genocide pretty much answered it for me
For a cartoon accurate MP collector (talking about myself here) this guy, no matter how good he looks, is not going to cut it with a more toy accurate design. And that's before taking into account the lack of toes (which the FT version will have) and the dino legs hanging off the robot legs (which the FT version will not have).
Then there is the aesthetics, I just like what FT is doing more.

I'm happy Snarl is the first images we see from this set. Beyond happy.
Next up that i'd like to see is their Sludge.

I need to see a size comparison.
The other not-Slag looks nice, but the fact that he's a little too big, and the lack of any clear plastic around the dino-head parts (in the same style as Grimlock's neck) are two strikes against it.
If this scales better with existing MP Grimlock and has that "encased metallic parts" look, I'd consider these instead.

What the hell?! How big? Not sure what to make of that. What's the official stance on the MP Dinobots these days? Grimlock was designed before they started down this path of uniform scale, right? And if this is indeed the size of an in-scale Snarl, then how long will we likely have to wait for Takara to get round to it?
This is getting crazy. Between HasTak, FansToys, Bulls Fire, and this lot we're getting four of the five original Dinobots in three different scales. And there's still none that will do me nicely.
