Here's something interesting that might have passed the radar here.
Apparently Toyworld has plans to Create Two IDW inspired 3rd party Transformers toys.
http://www.toyworld.jp/cms_item.php?id=20TW04 is IDW's version of Stealth Bomber Megatron. According to ToyWorld

This toy stands 19cm in robot mode. Which is around 7.5 inches tall. I love the design,So if TW prices it under $90,I'm buying it.
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transform ... agnus.htmlTW05 Appears to be TW's version of IDW Ultra Magnus. The toy stand 21-22 cm in robot mode. Which translates into a 8.4 inch Ultra scale robot mode. I'm interested but price will play a factor in me buying it or not. Since this is Toyworld & not TFCC,The price should be low enough & very reasonable. I kinda want this not to be a armor parts former. I'd prefer it be a huge solid piece toy that transforms back & forth only.
I don't need a deluxe cab bot that combines with trailer parts armor to form a ultra sized super robot mode.

I fail to see how taking pre-existing official artwork and turning it into silhouettes (which, if the pictures presented in the forum your second link takes us to is any indication, is all that has happened) qualifies as pics of these products.
Not that I'm terribly interested in either*, since I'm not terribly interested in stealth bomber Megatron (who also, as an extra strike in my opinion, already has an official figure), and Ultra Magnus already has more then enough options for my liking, official or otherwise, to bother with third party pricing for additional options.
But hey, if people do want these... Whatever. Enjoy! Just seems silly to me to present these silhouettes as if they are pics of these figures when they are clearly not. If they don't have any visuals of their own (be it their own illustrations or the standard blurry prototype pics) ready to present, maybe they should have either just announced them sans visuals, or held off on announcing them until they did have visuals?
Well... I suppose silhouetted official artwork has been done before for the initial announcement of such things. I guess it just seems a bit outrageous in this case because of the title of this thread. (Which, granted, is not Toy World's fault.) If it had been titled, "Toy World Announces TW04 Bomber Hegemon & TW05 Ultra Magnus," then that would be accurate. But with, "TW04 Bomber Hegemon & TW05 Ultra Magnus pics," you expect pics of the actual items in question, not just stolen silhouetted artwork of the characters these third party figures are inspired by.
* Before I get the standard, "If you're not interested in these, why are you posting in this thread?" let me just say that one can be interested in following the development of a product without being interested in eventually owning it.

We already have a Bomber Megs in the Generations line. This skirts knock-off territory, in my opinion, even if the overall design is different.
I'm intrigued by UM, but I am very happy, still, with my City Commander add-on.

It does! and it's the same with their Orion figure. We have one in the generations line!! A legend class version but still. lol

I have that Legends Optimus. As something of an Optimus
slut collector, I had to have him, even though I'm not a huge fan of the IDW design. He's a decent toy, although I wish his chest panels locked into place in robot mode.
I had no huge interest in Orion, however, which is reflected by his absence in my collection.
And, as previously stated, I have no interest in this Megatron design in the first place, so can't say I'd be keen on owing an expensive third party version of him. (Although I will be interested, as a curiosity, in following his development.)

Given how many people seem to have cooled on City Commander over the years, nice to know I'm not alone in still loving the heck out of him!

I believe there is a thread or two somewhere in the shadows talking about both products. What's worth mentioning is that this Bomber Megatron was hinted at before we even knew there would be an official Generations Deluxe version released to the public.
These reveals happened around the same time as TW also announced a set of Dinobots. Look how far they've gotten on that (well, publicly at least).

I think that is Agamemnon. I never got a chance to own a city commander. By the time I got into Third party it was going for 300+ on ebay. I brought and sold the KO version cause it was crap. Now that he is affordable (relatively) I don't feel the desire to own him anymore. Still looking for a good magnus though. so I want to see if TW's version develops into anything.

Oh, terribly sorry and quite right. While multi-quoting, I accidentally misattributed Agamemnon's comment to you.
I got lucky with City Commander, as when I finally decided I wanted him, it was when he was originally going for over $300+ on eBay, and I was quite close to reluctantly deciding to spend that much. But it was right as Fansproject announced they were rereleasing him! Thus, I snapped up the rerelease as soon as it was available.
Not sure I'd have been as happy with him for $300, but for what I spent I absolutely love him.
Well, good luck to you here. I hope this one develops into something you can enjoy.

Nice!
It's no biggie. If it doesn't develop into anything or anything I like I'll just wait till someone else does it. or Hopefully Takara! I don't believe they've ever made a voyager or bigger Magnus inspired by G1 (besides the white prime, which doesn't count lol)

He may not quite count, but I'm glad I got him when he was still in stores! For one thing, I
did also want Skywarp, so getting that set was a given. And for another, thanks I am sure in no small part to City Commander, the after market price of that Ultra Magnus sure shot way up!

Im not a big fan of stealth bomber megs to begin with. I keep him on my "no particular theme" shelf. For me G2 dreadwing is the core use of the mold and megatron is the repaint. But if I do ever get into IDW megs, it would be nice that he gets his own mold in voyager scale. I can live without another ultra magnus. I guess toyworld is giving up on the headmasters and going IDW. Im ready for the next throttlebot. I wish they would put all these faction leader figures on the backburner...

This on the Throttlebots. As for these two offerings, nope. I like the Generations Megatron, and City Commander with white Magnus is STILL my Classics Ultra Magnus. And I don't see it being replaced any time soon.

I don't need a bomber Megatron, as I like their Hegemon just fine. I am interested in seeing their Ultra Magnus though, as I'm interested in replacing City Commander at some point.

I'm definately interested in the TW04 Bomber Hegemon. As I felt the HasTak toy needed to be at least Voyager scale. I dislike it when HasTak makes smaller scale versions of TF character toys that clearly deserve the bigger scaled toys. IDW Bomber Megatron in the comics is a High ranking Faction Leader who is shown much bigger than the average Transformers in the IDW Comics. So he clearly deserves this bigger Voyager scale TW toy. If I had my way the toy would be Eight inch or leader scale.
TW05 Ultra Magnus i'm on the fence about. Takara has promised that MP Ultra Magnus toy in 2014-2015. KFC Has that Evai metal Ultra magnus toy coming out. I'm already happy with the 2001 Rid super scale Ultra Magnus & the TFA Leader scale Ultra Magnus toy.
The only way I'd buy TW04 if it looks better than the KFC Evai Metal version. If it's anything similar to the Maketoys Battle tanker,no thanks they can have it,I'm not interested.

After so many f*ck ups with their non-throtlebot crap I'm not even gonna think twice about this bound-to-be garbage
NEXT!
EDIT: To be clear, these are both things I would really want as Stealth Bomber Megs is an absolutely fantastic design and his imposing stature, and any Magnus that can forgo the middle man of a robot in armor is good in my book... but this is Toyworld we're talking about, they can't replicate the lineart to save their lives.

While I had no plans to buy this. I thought those non-throttlebots were doing well & were a huge hit. I saw a few youtube videos were the guys where praising the toys. From the videos, the toys released so far look to be top notch great toys.
I never cared for the Throttlebots as they seemed to be the whipping boys & overly weak from the start. In Rebith,in there first apperances they get beaten up pretty bady by the cons. In the Marvel comics they get destroyed too easily.
TW,As best as I know did decent work with Hegemon,Throttlebots,Orion pax & those Eight inch Headmasters toys. So this seems like a decent enough of a track record to make fans confident that TW04 Bomber Hegemon & TW05 Ultra Magnus will be decent quality toys.

If your referring to the delays in releasing these toys. I think the delays might come from TW doing too many different projects at the same time.

I think he meant everything that wasn't a Throttlebot. Is that what you are talking about too?
This is all so confusing, especially as we tend to use "not-" to describe things so as to not upset the intellectual property cart.
I think Shadowstream is thinking something close to my opinion. The Throttlebot homages so far have been quite nice! (I think this is what you are trying to say in reference to the YouTube videos, right?) Where Shadowstream and I may diverge is in Hardhead as I think he was very good. (Hardhead not being among the Throttlebot homages, it may not be to Shadowstream's liking.)
For the rest, I've heard bad things about Hegemon, though some here have praised it. I didn't like the aesthetics enough to replace my Classics version. Orion would be good except for that derned split chest.

I'm actually quite indifferent to the throttlebots, but I'm not gonna give them a bad wrap. Their Headmasters aren't too bad, but neither outright appeals to me like the funtion X stuff does. Hegemon is square and dull and fiddley, Orion is an
overweight tragedy, and Bii is... well it's another Bumblebee. The point is I don't trust Toyworld to replicate the look of the IDW comic designs with anything short of mediocrity.

I hope they release more Headmasters and finish up the Throttlebots before doing more of these IDW bots that I won't buy. I bought Hegemon, but that was a G1 design. I'm not going for the whole IDW thing (and it kinda annoys me that that's what Hasbro's up to lately with Generations).

well I guess I'm a little outside the majority by saying I want both of these like yesterday! I am very happy with orion and am trying to acquire a hegemon The only reason I didn't get him was because, at the time of his release, there were about three possible 3rd party megs in the works and I wanted to wait and see. guess I waited too long. the only thing I would like to see different in future toyworld releases is less little tabs that can break or thicker tabs, whichever.
