Swoop was pretty great, I hope this one is as big or bigger than Grimlock though.

YES!!! That's the one I was hoping would be next. Slug and Snarl are already getting love elsewheres (Fans Toys/Giga Power respectively).

I'm excited for this. I love Sludge! Hmm.. may have to go back and pick up that Swoop just to have matching teams.

I did my best to replicate.
Swoop's wings have a lot of folding capability. They cannot fold completely flat, but a lot of poses will be possible.

Here's the attempt at replicating the game image above:


And I took a couple folding them almost all the way one way and then almost all the way the other. They can go a little further, but I was running out of space. (Thinking back, I should have folded one all the way one direction and the other all the way the other direction. Darn my desire for symmetry...)




The wing packs do rotate a little in the backpack to offer some forward and backward rotation. Really, there are a ton of options in both bot and pterosaur modes.

If this new guy is anything like Swoop, I think we will be happy. The only thing I am slightly concerned about is scale and the accompanying cost. Swoop was smaller than the others in the game. I have no concern with the engineering or build quality. Now, need prototype pics, please!

I squeeled like a Starscream fangirl. I cannot wait for Sludge.

Please be Ultra-sized.

Sludge and Grimlock were the only G1 Dinobots I had. FOC Grimlock is perfect for my Classics shelves, so this one makes me feel like I'm seven again.

It's rare that I post in this part of the forum, but I got the first two PX's and look forward to this one.

If they pull Sludge off as well as they did Caelus, after I had all 5 required Dinobots, they could just start making them up and I'd be in for whatever.

A closer look at Swoop's wings in the game reveal that they are actually rotated around a full 180 degrees from their dino mode orientation while pointed upward in robot mode. Notice on which sides of the wing tips the red parts are located:



It is possible to rotate the wings around on Caelus and put them into this position for robot mode, but they cannot tilt upward as high as they could when not rotated. So while they do go at an upward angle to an extent when rotated, they go outward more than they go upward. Still, it's not too bad looking and is game-accurate, but the less game-accurate, unrotated position lets his wings point higher up like in the game.

So it comes down to if you care more about the wings pointing higher or facing the right way.

I still haven't jumped on Caelus yet, as good as I hear he is...

You know what they say: three trees is a row. Once Sludge is released, I'll probably be forced to bite and assemble a Dinobot trio (then quartet... then quintet!).

If I had the money & desire to get all of the 3rd party Dinobots toys. I'd want them to look like there G-1 versions. Something like what Fanstoys is doing.

I just don't like the FOC Dinobots designs. The dinosaur modes are okay. It's the robot modes,I dislike as there ugly & overly bulky in some key areas.

Other than Justitoys WST Sludge this is the first time the character has seen any sort of homage. I also had him a kid so am very happy.

Glad to see they're continuing these. Their version of Swoop is one of the best third party toys out there.

I use PCC Grimstone to represent Skar. I gave him an oversized energon weapon and it sits the aesthetic rather well IMO.

If Planet X did nothing but well made fan-dinobots after the first 6 (gotta do Paddles), I will be happy to continue buying.

What size scale are these? I assumed they would be leader scale due to FP
doing those Ten inch MP G-1 Dinobots.

What scale is PX Swoop? Deluxe or Voyager scale? I'm gueesing PX Swoop might be a scale or Two smaller than the other PX Dinobots. Because Swoop in the fiction is shown smaller.

The only way,I'd even consider buying these PX FOC Dinobots. If PX makes there own version of FOC Grimlock because the HasTak toy is terrible. Also they need to be voyagers or Ultra Scale toys & cost under $85 each.

I love the FP Ten inch MP Dinobots. But paying almost $200 for each one is way out of my spending budget. I might be tempted to buy them all,If they cost under $90 each.

Caelus (Swoop) is the height of a short Deluxe, roughly the size of the smaller DOTM/Generations FOC/Prime RID Deluxes.

But, his wingspan is quite impressive, longer in length than the typical height of an average Voyager.

These are scaled to the FOC game scale based on Generations FOC Voyager Grimlock.
