Looks neat, and I like that it's an arm replacement instead of just a hand-held weapon. Cool idea, let's see if this gets off the ground or not.

Is there an option to use it as a normal hand held weapon ? Seems like such a shame to compromise G1 accuracy to please the pro parts storage crowd.

It doesn't look there's a handle on the gun, so not hand-held.

If i was into the WFC/FOC line i would definitely buy all these , the fact that it's a new arm is awesome much better than those glove guns classics Ironhide and Ratchet or movie Bumblebee came with .

Then its an easy pass for me. Putting a shockwave style arm cannon on soundwave is ugly to me. I use foc soundwave as my classics soundwave so I just want a G1 semi accurate gun. I dont give a damn if theres no place to put it in alt mode. Parts storage is so overrated.

It's not about storage in alt-mode, in fact you won't be able to transform the toy with this attachment. This is to made to be more game accurate, where the arms actually become the weapon instead of actually holding them.
This is for those who want to replicate the game look.

And I have to give major props to the shapeways artist who originally created this before Guilty stole the design.

I never played the game and I assumed that the toy was already game accurate with 2 hands. Some people throw a fit when a gun doesn't have a place to store on the figure, so I figured this was Guilty's way to appease that stance. Needless to say, I just want a nice G1 style hand held cannon. Once somebody creates a decent classics Soundwave, the FOC voyager version will be leaving my shelf.

It is game accurate with two hands, but in the game the arms turn into the weaponry. And The toy already comes with a handheld gun, so I don't really see why you'd even want this, since you already have the handheld version. This just like the Starscream/ Jazz one is for those who want to make the toys more game accurate.

The thing that comes with Soundwave is supposed to be a gun ? It looks like his traditional G1 shoulder mounted cannon to me. His right shoulder even has a peg hole for it to be placed so I personally don't think it was meant to be a hand held weapon. As I stated before, I don't follow the game. I repurpose the figures for my classics shelf and love upgrades that make them more G1 cartoon accurate. (hence all the FOC Grimlock upgrades)

X is right:

Though it can be used as a hand held.

I wonder, Dead Metal, if you were thinking of the WfC version. I know I was.

Image

I was actually hoping for the gun that was on the back of the box artwork.

Image

Image Any number of my Classics/Generations OP could have used that.

Do we have confirmation that this is a design someone else did, perhaps at Shapeways? I was just making a guess based on Hunger's past history, then there was Dead Metal's comment along the same line... Regardless, isn't this like a year or a year and a half late?

Reading through the thread, I was totally thinking of the WFC deluxe.

WFC Soundwave superior, FOC Soundwave... inferior!

Yea, I was thinking of the WFC Deluxe figure, completely forgot that there was a Voyager version later. That kinda sucks that it doesn'T have an actual gun. But the fact that this accessopry here isn't for alt-mode storage, still stands.

Sorry X, but generally accessories are there to make the figure more accurate to the source material, which in this case is the games. Maybe someone will make a more G1 gun later on but I don' think so.

Oh I don't know if this is from Shapeways, but it has to be. All the stuff these guys make is stolen from somewhere, so this will likely be too.
