There is no such thing as "inferior" in my book, especially if you have at least one piece that has meaning to you.

It's because some of us like to have something that has historical and/or financial value. Plus, there are toys that suffer from Gold/Metallic Plastic Syndrome. And... If we played with every figure ever made, we would be stuck with nothing but Bumble/Bumblebee.
And I, for one, do not want my future offspring to only recognize Bumblebee as the only Transformer in existence!
