Sorry for the light month last month folks... But I'm back today with a doozy of a review! This is a long one, so hope you're sitting comfortably as we take a look at Powermaster Optimus Prime with Apex Armor!

Well, technically, since I'm looking at a Japanese release of this toy, it isn't Optimus Prime but rather God Ginrai... But that's semantics!

Anyway, enjoy the review! And as always comments are welcomed!

Excellent review as always.

I had a bad experience with my Re-issue Super Godginrai set, the "Ginrai" legs in mine just plain broke into pieces so good luck handling it.

I managed to get an Apex Armor Hasbro set as a replacement but the experience traumatized me............owning G1 vintages (my re-issue was purchased back in 2002).......they break.

The Apex armor differs (package and instruction and no biocard) and the missiles which have been lengthened without chrome and his wheel screws are now permanent rivets.

I do often have a devil of a time getting the legs of the Super mode apart when I am transforming the trailer into base mode, but so far (with periodic transformation over the last decade) so good. I shall keep my fingers crossed!

I knew about the missile (even pointed it out in my review) but I did not know about the wheels. I wonder why they did that? Still, seems that would be not as much as a cosmetic issue as is choosing between a reasonable length missile and a stupidly long one!

The Japanese version is the short choke in the throat version  !

Oh, the legs in the trailer also scares me. What broke in mine were the legs in the cab portion.

Also noticed, the Hasbro version label sheet has a plastic film/ laminate over the sheet. The Takara version hasn't got the extra film.
