It really seems like whoever the people that thought of this only had a cursory knowledge of G1, thought dream wave was "totally radical!" and only watched the last 30 minutes of the Bay movies.

I honestly find this pretty darn cool. It is a different take on Optimus and it looks pretty sweet. I cannot afford it, but it still cool :BOT:

What happened to Starscream? I can't imagine him giving his own life to power up Prime like lovely RotF Jetfire did.

I think it's more Optimus killed him and took his parts, ala Lockdown :BOT:

So if you'd make some kind of Starscream-styled jetpack for your MP Optimus, you'd end up with the same look, but with the ability to transform. The pricetag is rather shocking too. A quick glance tells me he's about 350 dollar? Ouch! and what are we looking at? A fanboyish 'what-if'? This toy's got a lot working against it.

Still, I can kinda see what the plan was with this guy. Those thrusters look a bit like movie Jetfire's engines, but Starscream'd. It looks like the designers got caught up in an idea and never bothered to check if what they where doing made sense.

I'm not really sure who the audience for this is. Collectors who are willing to drop almost $350 on a statue tend to be a bit more focused in their collecting, and this figure not only has no counterpart in the G1 fiction, but it also runs counter to Prime's G1 characterization.

Maybe if they'd done Megatron with Grimlock parts attached...

What I mean is I prefer the mainline transformers that transform and are fun to play with and pose. this guy is just for posing and I don't buy 3rd party or MP guys. :BOT:
