The toy in the review is mistransformed, you didnt push the chest high enough. There shouldnt be a gap

you can keep pushing beyond the markers

sorry but i have to disagree, that fix requires way too much force to be official and i think im going to break her if i keep trying it

Its not a fix, that is the official transformation as suggested by Takara. They have shown her this way since day 1, look how high the chest is:

Check this video at the 10 minute mark to see how it is done:

If you really cant do it at all, then your copy is defective.

umm i took at the takara picture good look and mine does go up to that point as well, and thats not from pushing it up higher than the marked position. the reason you cant see the gap on that takara shot it because of the grapple attached to her back blocking light from behind and the angle of the shot, the pred logo's distance from the upper lip of the chest piece tipped me off.

but as im writing this, im wondering why do i care? i reviewed her with my honest opinion and transformed her as i thought was proper. if the gap issue's solution is to put far more pressure on the chest than im comfortable with, then thats no less a knock on the toy than the gap itself. i shouldnt have to feel like im breaking her to transformer her correctly and id much rather keep her "mistransformed" than do so

Not it does not, take a better look:

However, I totally agree with every argument you put forth and that having to exert this much pressure is as much a knock against the figure as the gap itself, but it does loosen up afterwards (and yours may be faulty). But still, it is not true that yours is the same as the takara picture, you can clearly tell by how much of the collar piece is left uncovered by the chest piece in your picture compared to takara's. I just thought as a reviewer you would want to know what a toy's true weakness was and maybe you might enjoy it more if you got it worked out, or better yet know that yours might be a faulty model. Many are not having the same experience as you (as can be seen in the corresponding thread) so you might want to look into returning yours. This toy has a few assembly problems, some came with two right legs, so you might be a victim of a faulty toy as well.

took mine apart to check, dosnt look faulty to me. i did manage to get it up there, and did not like the result. while it does shrink the neck gap, it creates one under the bust, noticed it on Emgo's vid as well.

official transformation or not, i strongly advise against pushing the spider head up further up than it will fluidly go. the spiderhead itself (not the bust pieces) is translucent plastic painted black, which is highly prone to stressing, cracking and breaking. couple that with the spider legs on her shins having very soft plastic on its swivel joints, this is a very fragile toy and i fear in the coming years, finding one in good shape may become a rarity

Took mine apart to check because of gap. Turns out her torso piece was assembled backwards. Screwhole is supposed to be on her right instead of left. This also causes her spider mode to be flimsier than it should be because it's not collapsed properly :(
