Takara likes to have fun every now and then with their Masterpiece line, this set, which is an homage to an older exclusive set of cassettes, is no exception. While the big grab of this set is the debut of the Steeljaw mold, this is a fun set and helps expand your Transformer Cassette collection.

Ready for some tiny Masterpiece goodness? Regular toy reviewer and fellow Seibertronian Chuckdawg1999 has done a video review for the latest MP release, MP 15/16E, Cassettebot vs. Cassettetron. They've been released for a few weeks now, and as Chuck explains, they homage some very obscure figures from two different Encore releases from 2012, Soundblaster (who came with Enemy and Wingthing) and Twincast (who came with Stripes and Nightstalker).

While Masterpiece Stripes uses the MP Ravage mold (with some slight retooling of his weapons), Enemy and Wingthing are straight up redecos of the Masterpiece Frenzy/Rumble and Masterpiece Ratbat molds. The only new mold to the set is Nightstalker, who is a clear indicator of an eventual MP Steeljaw, as the original Nightstalker cassette was a recolor of Steeljaw.

Let us know what you think of this set! Do you have it? Are you planning on getting it? Watch Chuck's review below, and let us know your thoughts on the latest MP release!

I wanted this set. I really did. But $115 for a few cassettes is just more than I can bring myself to spend (and more than I can get away with before my wife kills me).

Does anyone else have problems keeping Stripes nose tabbed together tightly? Wondering if theyre all that way or just mine. Ravages nose stays together tightly.

Mine is perfect in that regard. No need to squeeze it hard or hold it together, it just stays together with no effort.

Thanks. Thats good to know they arent all bad. I might see if I can get an exchange on him. Also the 2 halves of the butt dont hold together tight.

I had this set on preorder, but cancelled a few days before its release. I have three of these molds already & I know Nightstalker will eventually come out at some point repainted & slightly retooled as Steeljaw, so I'm just going to save my money until Takara puts him out, hopefully before the end of the year.
