Red Wing has a storied history for modern Transformers fans and those who fondly remember the TFCC. The figure itself is a repaint of the upcoming Thundercracker figure, who is a repaint with a new head of Starscream. The big plus in Red Wing's favor is the chest piece doesn't pop off during transformation, something I hope is a foreshadowing of improvements made to Thundercracker and Skywarp.

Well, after he came and went on Target's website (possibly accidentally), Generations Selects Red Wing has begun shipping, and he's landed in the hands of regular reviewer chuckdawg1999!

While some thought he had new weapons (including myself), the only definitely remolded piece is Red Wing's head. It's also possible there's been a slight running change to the chest piece, as Chuck points out.

So what do you think of the figure, Seibertronians? Is Red Wing a Decepticon you'll add to your collection when/where he becomes available again? Currently, the listing has been taken down, but given the very brief time it was up, it seems likely it will become available again in the future. Let us know your thoughts below!

Thanks Chuck, I learned something from you today. How to properly transform Starscream and the neck flap. I just assumed it folded into the body and I've been using the boosters as a gap filler. The more you know, red lasers, blue lasers - thanks ;)^

I didn't get the whole different weapon thing either, especially with the pics right there in the post #-o

And one more thing I don't get is the whole made up head swap mistake thing, I'm pretty sure it's just pure...

The shame with the head flap is its not mentioned in the instructions, that's something that always annoys me.

Starscream has always been represented as a smirking douche, but that doesn't mean he's the only seeker with that personality.

oh, nice to see they fixed the chest. the only thing that annoys me before about this mold is that chest, and i love the rest. so since now it is fixed, i will be able to love it more.
