Death Reviews: Motormaster - Commander - Legacy

G1 Menasor was kind of a joke. And CW Menasor wasn't much better. So who would have imagined that the Legacy line would take the much-maligned Stunticons and make them something GOOD? Yet so far, that seems to be the case, as Commander Class Motormaster joins the growing number of Legacy line Stunticons!

Join Death as he gives a full review to the would-be King of the Road! The vehicle and robot modes, the transformations, the Menasor skeleton, and even the (sigh) "Base" mode! Has Nemesis Prime lost his place as the coolest black colored Decepticon semi truck?

I received my Commander Class Motormaster last week from BBTS. The Stunticons were, without a doubt, among my favorite Transformers I had as a kid. I still have all five, they’re still rock-solid, and I’m excited to complete the new Legacy set next year. I skipped the Fansproject version years ago (had them preordered) because it wouldn’t have felt right to own the Stunticons, and then have to handle them very carefully.

I’ve transformed my Legacy Motormaster multiple times without any issue. He’s got a few tabs here and there, but overall, everything flows pretty nicely. I’d say the compact transformation into Menasor’s upper torso is the most complex part. The trailer is easy to disassemble and put back together. I plan on taking this set off the shelf frequently, to take apart, transform, and display differently. That’s what the Stunticons are to me—fun toys from my childhood!

After I complete the Legacy set next year, I’m planning on retiring from Transformer collecting. I’ve been collecting CHUG since 2006 (and some Cybertron/Galaxy Force since 2005). It was Ryan’s Cybertron/GF galleries that got me back into the hobby years ago. I’m hoping to post some pics of my collection so I can showcase what nearly two decades of CHUG collecting looks like. ;)^

Glad you're enjoying MM as well - there are a few issues, but overall, it's a worthy commander-class figure!

Hope to post my Wild-Rider review soon! So far, the FOOT deluxe figures are proving a bit less awesome...
