Originally part of the Constructicons, Hauler assisted in the upgrade of a Kaon pit-fighter turned Decepticon politician named Megatron. After witnessing Megatron's ambitions change from that of a politician to someone hungry for power through tyranny, Hauler joined up with the Autobots.
