Here is my video review of Human Alliance Soundwave. The quick take away is that they figure, even though he looks a tad weird, is excellent and deserves a place in your collection.

Seibertron.com member baltmatrix has uploaded a video review of the Takara version of Tranformers Dark of the Moon Human Alliance Soundwave with Dylan Gould and Laserbeak. There appear to be practically no differences between the Hasbro and Takara versions outside of some slight variations in the packaging. Check out his review embedded below.

I don't know what the rest of the universe is smoking: This Soundwave is PARSECS beyond that Deluxe atrocity that everyone seems to love.

You know, not to under mind this reviewers video. But if I spent close to 90 dollars on a Japanese release and it wound up being this mediocre. I'd play it up like it was a pretty damn good myself to justify dropping 90 bucks on something that could have EASILY been waited on and paid 30 for. Now I've been waiting for this release personally, but that is NOT worth 90 bucks, hell I'm gonna be hard pressed to spend 30 on this.
Also he "understands" why they sized down the toy due to packaging and the economic down turn? I'm sorry...what? Again not trying to under mind the guy, but nice way to try and cover Habro/Takara's ass for scaling down their Dark of the Moon toy line. So if the economy is the case, shouldn't 10 dollars be immediately dropped off the price tag for these things?
Just meh....was so excited for this mold and its just....meh. So Barricade remains the only good Decepticon "Human Alliance" figure we'll ever get unless Hasbro makes The Dreads. I think a black Suburban would be bad ass.

This video actually got me even more excited for this figure. I think it looks phenomenal.

I'll definitely buy this guy's Hasbro release, partly just because I don't have a movie Soundwave, since the ROTF deluxe was so awful, but the top heaviness, giant backpack, horrible color, tiny legs, and lousy Laserbeak alt mode detract a lot from the potential awesomeness it could have had. Oh yeah, and the general smallness of it. For Jazz it's appropriate, but how Soundwave went from being a giant satellite to a matchbox car is beyond me. Anyway I won't be paying full price. That said I'd like to know if the third Wrecker's going to have a Human Alliance figure.

pure garbage... everything below the waist is wrong. Those legs couldn't look any stupider.

I like it, despite the gimpy legs. I'm wondering why he's on the small side though. Is the car small like Skids, Mudflap, and Jazz or did they make it smaller to include the Laserbeak figure?

Seeing it in hand it doesn't look as bad as it did. Not good, but not as bad. Still, no shiny.
And no, Laserbeak does not look good. All that was needed was NOT to paint the legs bright red. I'm still really disappointed with both Soundwave figures..

How can he sit there and tell all those lies? Just kidding, I still say it's crap and it needs to be dumped on the planet of Junkion for what it is. I will say that I do understand his appeal for this TF for looking different and unique...HA Reverb...'nuff said!

I really think deluxe version is a lot more appealing. I will pass on this one and get the deluxe version, the same I did with the wreackers.

I had no plans to get either version of DOTM Soundwave, but I watched the video anyways.
With a little paint the alt mode would look good. That's all the figure has going for it. Otherwise, it's a gorilla-armed kibble nightmare with tiny legs.

The transformation seems pretty involved. Still Waiting for a HA Sideways with Alice, or is that to obvious for a HA decepticon?A dread with Captain traitor?

I enjoy Baltmatrix's reviews and I have watched this one three times over the last three months or so to try to psych up for this figure... I just can't.
Soundwave has been my favorite since I was a kid in the 80's and the DOTM toys don't do him justice.
As for HA, DOTM is 1 for 5. Roadbuster is a great figure (the 2nd edition paint job anyway) but the rest I haven't bothered with. The repaints of Bumblebee and Skids look ugly in robot and Leadfoot and Soundwave look bad in all modes. Huge Disappointment. The way those latter four have collected dust on retail shelves leads me to believe we won't get an HA Topspin or Dino/Mirage... bummer.
