It's funny how many podcasts have been complaining that these were a boring set, unwanted, etc. Seems you either wanted these guys or hated them.

Hasbro/Takara remade the mold a couple jets ago. It's not the same one used since Classic Starscream. That's why there is no "mold degradation".

As for their identity they are not "new" Seekers, they are the "welcoming committee" from More Than Meets The Eye Part 1. They three miscolored jets who attacked Wheeljack and Bumblebee on their way back to Iacon. One even has a flamethrower that can make flame in odd shapes, as described in the bio!

I know about those guys, but oddly enough, my conversation with Pete made it seem like they weren't those particular guys. Hell if i know LOL i was just repeating basically what he had told me.

I don't get why people think they're boring or unwanted....especially since they sold out so quickly....granted i'm sure the dealers helped make that happen, but it still was a fairly successful set.

There is a whole thread on the full metal hero forum in the section for the Moonbase2 Podcast where the hosts thought these three were the most boring set that could have ever been made. I even tried to convince them that fans wanted this and it sold out, and they argued it was just the scalpers and stores buying them out, that it wasn't the fans who wanted them! They just don't seem to understand people like these guys. I mean is there any doubt?

They most defitely seem to be referencing the guys from MTMTE part 1. eHobby Sunstorm was based on that scene, and this guy is based on ehobby Sunstorm. Now we have the other two guys as well. Yet somehow people are going around posting nonsense on other boards that the green guy is supposed to be Acid Storm with a new name, given a new name because Hasbro is using Acid Storm for the MP seeker! Nonsense.

Anyways, bit of trivia, the names and personalities of Bitstream and Hotlink were taken from two character who appeared in the Transformers Exodus novel. They were Decepticon techies who worked for Starscream.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Bitstream

So it seems when they needed names and personalities for these nameless G1 characters, they stole them from the Prime continuity!

They are nice figures, just got mine today. It's really nice I can add these to my Classics Seekers armada now! :D By the way, did anyone notice that the plastic bag they come packaged in says "BOTCON 2013 SOUVINER SET #3 RAINMAKERS (3-PACK)" Pretty sure the correct spelling is "souvenir" , double checked by looking it up in the dictionary, and compared it to other languages via translating programs back and forth. Pictures of the packaged sets that are available on e-bay and elsewhere all contain the same misspelled "souviner" on it. Not that I'm that much of a critic, just happened to notice it. :-?
