Hard to see some of the details with the bright lighting. Kinda sounds like he's grasping at straws when he talks about how it's not a bad figure. Personally, I think it's horrible. For a 5 year old though, it'd be pretty sweet. I wonder if the regular (non-first edition) release will be different or if it will be this figure without the chrome.

Pretty sure I posted Emgo316's review before Optibotimus posted his. Or is it because it's not my review?

You did indeed, but you made the same mistake I made with a couple of reviews I linked a while ago and posted it in the wrong forum, so it was missed.

It wasn't in the wrong forum, it was a time lapse int the news emails as Va'al told me. Oh well.

As for this review: GOD DAMN MAN! Those lights! I can't see your table.

Really? He told me mine were in the wrong forum, and their in the same forum as yours. Meh. Don't matter I guess.

And yeah, the lights kinda wash out some of the detail on this figure.

Just to clarify: If you think something is newsworthy, either post in the News and Rumours section, and we'll pick it up/consider it, or post it in the appropriate section and drop us an email with a link to it!

Manterax' notification was seen almost at the same time as we were working on this one, which is why one was newsed and the other wasn't.

Fires_of_Inferno: If I told you it was the wrong forum, I apologise - I meant to say it's easier if it's in the News section, or if you email us as soon as you post it, so we notice it. There's a lot of threads to go through to pick up actual news!

Does that clear it up? :-?

Truck mode looks very good but bot mode looks very rigid and lacking in appeal.

Hasbro tried to make a collector oriented piece from a rather basic figure. I can understand not wanting to repeat the complexity of ROTF Prime so that the kids don't get frustrated and ditch the toys but in going simple they risk losing those who like to transform their robots rather than just uncover and straighten.

As it stands this tries to appeal to everyone and yet somehow misses both markets. Too disappointing, simple and ugly for the collectors and possibly too expensive for parents to get for kids.

Sorry, but this toy is complete crap. Not a big fan of shell-formers. Not a big fan of humongous backpack with no functionality. Not a big fan of overly simplified transformations. Not a big fan of a whole third of the vehicle mode sitting on the robot mode's back as kibble.

No sir, I don't like it. I look at this Optimus and just go  over and over...

On a side note, I had to watch Emgo's review because when I started to watch Optibotimus' review, I couldn't make out a lot of the details, and it started to hurt my eyes cause it was so bright... Just sayin...

If this doesn't sell, it's Hasbro's fault. They asked the moviemakers to simplify the designs to make it easier, well...the bot's are too simplified and the result is this.

The main robot portion looks good, it's all the excess plastic from the shell that kills it. Had they designed him with a backpack, he'd be perfect.

You can see where they tried to make it work, and then it crashed and burned.

Hmm..

Well I would jump on the shell former bandwagon too, but I bought this figure and it should be arriving from Amazon tomorrow after we get another 6-8 inches of snow here in Central Illinois. No this figure will not appeal to everyone but I'm kind of digging the truck mode. Chrome aside...the proportions are pretty accurate and you get the massive size of truck itself. I will most likely keep him in truck mode and display next to my DOTM Jetwing Optimus Prime. My only complaint is that the door windows are neither clear or at least painted black...even including stickers would have been nice Hasbro! I will enjoy the figure and will have no one to blame but myself when he ends up on Amazon for 19.99 in a couple of months :BANG_HEAD: . I only paid $19.99 for the Beast Hunters Prime and I loved that thing before I gave it to Goodwill with a bunch of other recently released figures. Everyone just needs to calm down now and know that this is what's coming. We may see more shell formers down the road.

Actually, it's for ages 8+ according to the packaging. Sad to say.

Both modes look horrible. I guess we can expect to see reviewers kissing Hasbro's butt about how great simple is while trying to convince themselves that this is a good figure. Oh well, it gives me a chance to save up and get more 3rd party figures instead of these.

The Sword/Shield that came with mine are all one color-the translucent yellow, not dual tone like the review/gallery...Anyone else have this happen too?

Thanks to everyone that watched my video and appreciated it.

To those talking about the "brightness" or not being able to see my table. Not seeing the table is the point of what is called "infinite white background". You don't see the table basically and it has just what the title states, and infinite white background look. The exposure level, ISO, lighting, and anything else, is the same that is used on recent videos of mine. It's my personal preference for how i like my videos to look, the problem with this figure is the reflective nature of the chrome. I choose to film the way i do and emgo does with his. It's personal preference.

All that being said, again, thank you for watching the video if you did. It's always appreciated and always an honor when Seibertron features something i do.

I hate to say it but the figure looks absolutely horrid. I do find it funny that once you pull the top panel back it looks like Prime is just sitting down in the cab but this isn't worth the $60 or $45 mainline retail. Heck, I'm not sure this will be worth $5 as an add on deal from Amazon next Christmas. I really hope this won't be the style going forward of the simplified figures; Bumblebee and Smokescreen use the car to become limbs and vice versa, they're not shell formers. It also doesn't help that Hasbro photo shopping was in full effect making the backpack look smaller. On the plus side it looks like the deluxe movie Prime will be a bit better.

I want to also apologize if my last seemed rude. I didn't intend for it to be. I thank you all for your feedback. It's all very much appreciated, despite what some may think...i use it to help make my videos better. Constant feedback on things is the only way to help me do that, so i want to first make it clear that i appreciate it and welcome it. Previous feedback about my videos looking too bright on occasion led me, for example, to go out and buy a brand new camera some time ago. I went and upgraded my camera, allowing me to better control things manually, such as exposure, white balance and the ISO. I also upgraded my lighting and studio area. I also reached out to an actual photographer that helped me learn how to better use all these new items. Not everything is always going to look perfect, but i wanted to just let everyone know that the feedback has helped me and i take it all very seriously.

This line will be just like every other movie line for me. There will be those few diamonds in the rough to pick up.

That is the best if not one of the best Optimus prime truck modes of all times. It even made roth Optimus truck look outdated/inferior. Optibotimus always gives the full scoop of info on his great reviews on transformers figures which led me to finding about many transformers figures that might have been hidden gemz.
I will keep my eyes on this figure until all of the AOE figures are all released and reviewed. 8)

And even with 6 steps, he's still the better figure.

Not saying that this Optimus is better than that Supreme Starscream but hey, that Starscream not only just had six steps for transformation but it just had like six points of articulation as well

This figure looks pretty cool, but I'm REALLY hoping for a Leader Class Grimlock. I was utterly disappointed in Hasbro for not having a Leader Class Megatron or Shockwave in their DOTM line. Instead, they had Bumblebee...
