Age of Extinction First Edition Optimus Prime

I'm really not sure who this toy was made for. It's trying to sell itself as a collector's item with it's price, packaging, chrome, and "First Edition" label, but it's designed to appeal to children with its simplified design.
It's like it deliberately alienated itself from both demographics. I'm glad I have it, I guess, but I feel like it's an oversized, overpriced, overhyped Voyager.
