My video analysis of one of G1 Transformers's biggest debates. Who Became Cyclonus, Bombshell or Skywarp.

The third side.

I fell that Cyclonus is Bombshell's body with Skywarp's re-energized spark. His personality in the cartoon show is closer to Skywarp but in the Marvel UK comic stories I've read IMHO he had a personlity closer to Bombshell.

From a film buff it's Bombshell due to Bombshell being in the foreground which is basically means "This is what your eye is drawn to and thus it is most important."

So you feel its a merger of the two? Bombshell body with parts of Skywarp in the mix with Skywarp's spark? Makes sense. I don't think the dead Insecticons were the originals but were clones.

I think the Insecticons that got tossed out of Astrotrain MIGHT have been the originals but with so many clones over the years it's impossible to tell if they were the originals or clones. Hell maybe even Bombshell, Kickback, and Shrapnel couldn't tell anymore. I mean one of them showed up on Junk after Unicron reformatted them with Scavenger threatening Daniel.

In the end though I try to figure out ways that these contradictions can fixed. For example I think the cartoon show's 2 different origins of the Constructions were both right. That they were originally from Cybertron and they were friends with Omega Supreme until Megatron reprogrammed them after their betrayal they laid low. Once Megatron made contact with Cybertron again they went to Earth and Omega Supreme who had been tracking them since their betrayal, so he chased them to Earth and blew their spaceship up and left them in a pretty bad shape, they sent out a distress signal so Megatron when found them he built them new bodies (based on their old ones), while Omega Supreme made contact with the Autobots on Earth.

Nice job on the video ;)^
I'm surprised that you didn't mention WHY the line "and his Armada" was left in. And if anyone is interested, its because it was Orson Welles last performance and in his honor they decided to not alter any of his lines.
edit: The above might be completely unfounded. I don't remember where I read that, but I googled a bit and couldn't find anything :oops:

I always told myself it was Skywarp because, thats just who I wanted him to be I guess. I'm torn now... weighing the facts now, I'd say it could be irrelevant. Megatron being the only one alive seems more plausible and all his followers being populated with brand new sparks just seems right. But I do prefer the idea Megatron, now Galvatron, having the same two trusty sidekicks as he had back in the day.

I'm also ok with it being a mystery too :lol:

I think the entire issue lies with continuity errors. I also heard that the original script had the idea of giving Cyclonus his own cloned robots, like Scourge has Sweeps. The animators drew it, Orson spoke the text " ...and his armada*..." and it was done. After the scene was already completed they desided not to have more Cyclonus robots.

The easiest way to describe it is as follows;
- Thundercracker and Skywarp have always been higher ranked than the Insecticons. Hence they become Cyclonus and Scourge.
- Thundercracker's behaviour resembles Cyclonus much more than Scourge, hence he became Cyclonus.
- Skywarp's behaviour resembles Scourge much more than Cyclonus, hence he became Scourge.

Everything happend during the Unicron reformatting is just wrongly animated, aside from Kickback and Shrapnel. And that Shrapnel thing on Junkion is just a mistake too. And since season 3 is one big ride of continuity errors, there can't be a logical story explanatory for any of them.

Nice Youtube movie though.
