KOREAN TRANSFORMERS

Someone should write to Hasbro and tell them that THIS is what we as fans want to see. Robots that transform into recognizable vehicles that the common man drives (minus the emergency/service vehicles, the fancy sports cars, and the Optimus Prime & Bumblebee KO's) If you've never seen these before, what are your thoughts on them? There is also a RID Drift Ko in the first video. This topic should really be in the non TF toys forum.

@OP

There technically official Korean TFs. Those are distributed by Sonokong. Different character fonts (i.e. Korean) but just as 100% originals. I used one of the loose versions to replace the broken parts of my Takara BW Big Convoy.

There's also a toyline of realistic cars for a younger audience, Tobots iirc that also mimics the Gaogaigar theme of intelligent/sentient transforming robos fighting evil.

Tobots? Yeah, I've seen a video of those, but they don't really interest me much. Too cartooney looking. However, those realistic Hondas/Hyundais, I need to find out were to get them from IMMEDIATELY :KREMZEEK: Lol.

I dig those car modes, they do look great. I'd like to see more licensed car designs in the Takara lines, I know it drives the price up but I love cars and robots.

Speaking of Korean Transformers, does anybody know anything about the Jin Yang Company? They made a KO Whirl [or Ovelon Gazzette for Dorvack fans] that I like a lot. I wonder if they KO'd any other popular robots, but I can't find anything more about them.

I shot a video of it-

Odd that nobody has mentioned these toys are called "Carbots" or "Hello Carbot".

I've watched nearly all videos available on youtube, the Korean ones and the great reviews from that dude who does Sentai, Tobot and Carbot reviews (in english).

He's done a fwe Carbot reviews, and talks about the line in general, the pros and cons etc.
Overall there are pretty good quality toys, and most are quite large. Some have issues, but nothing major that you don't get with any other type of Transforming toy.
His reviews are excellent, my favourite to watch along with Ben, Emgo and Thew.

You can find his various reviews and sub channels /playlists here:

And here's a Bens Collectables review of Hello Carbot Thunder Duke (I'm not recommending the toy, just useful to have an english review that will lead you to other similar reviews)

I was watching some more of those Carbot and related video and saw this guy, does anybody know what it is called? I'm looking for it on ebay, it's a combiner.

It's a licensing thing in Korea. I don't know about the Hello Carbots, but the Tobot line are KIA vehicles. I never though I would use the woeds "KIA and cool" in the same sentence, but some of the Tobots are very cool. But real life KIA cars are still awful to drive, and very ugly.
