I seem to have made a grave miscalculation... Apparently Super Mini-pla Voltron is ridiculously heavy because the payment request I got had shipping at a minimum 3,620 JPY for SAL. #-o I've got a bunch of these kits and none of them have come this high in shipping. Thankfully I've got a bunch of stuff on order this month, most of it fairly small stuff (two figma, two small model kits, two tiny cloth key chain things, and Voltron) so hopefully after combining all of my August orders I can balance the cost of shipping back out. But man, big time sticker shocks when that email came in.

Unless you're buying a ton of stuff all at once or are using HLJ's warehouse service, get Voltron domestically for the best total price, non't import him. He's around $60 on most domestic sites, importing is going to run you around $75 total.

Hmmm.... It's $64 on Amazon JP shipped. Actually it's slightly cheaper than getting from Amazon US after tax.

BBTS must've found some extra GX-71 inventory. They had it available overnight for PO at $450. It's sold out now.

Am i the only one who finds Voltron's power level to be really inconsistent on the current show. At some point in the series, it became a given that voltron could wipe out an entire fleet of galra no problem, in a practically anticlimactic kind of way. But in season 7, thwy cant just wipe out Sendak? Who cares if he holds earth ransom, they can pulverize this guys entire fleet into oblivion without breaking a sweat! And plus they have that super speed and super recharge capability so nothing is really stopping them.

It may be explained away by the fact the Lions were low on power when they reached Earth?

I need to pick that show back up again. Stopped at the end of season 2. It's a hell of a ride. I'm assuming the new netflix show?

I ended up selling all all the large plastic limbs when they stopped being carried at retail and "downgraded" to the small metal set... on clearance. Meh, it needs paint.

For a "kids cartoon" I felt the last season got really dark.

So much so I can't go back and watch earlier episodes, they're far too "happy and nice".

I dont know why sci-fi shows keep doing episodes like that, with random ass omni powerful characters that dont get mentioned again. Dont know if you also watch Doctor Who but they did that too, twice in the same Matt Smith run :BOOM:

This plus probably some advancements in Galra technology during the time jump. Considering some of the rapid advancements we've seen from them, especially during Lotor's reign, there may have been more during Voltron's absence. If Earth can rapidly advance in that time then why can't they?

But the paladins dont know that either so its a moot point. All I mean is I dont see how Sendak is that big a threat to Voltron. And about the power, there was a whole show dedicated to showing us that they were no longer dependent on a power source to recharge and regained full power.

This is why I find the show very inconsistent.

You know I watch every episode just like I did as a kid; waiting on them to...

Ah the money shot

Still a little disappointed they didn't use a remix of the original theme.

I'm picking mine up from the post office tomorrow. It actually arrived last week, but my mailman just assumes nobody is going to answer the door so he doesn't bother delivering anything that requires a signature. You can't see my house from the road, I guess it's too much trouble to see if anyone is home at 11am (there was).

I used to leave my screen door open so they could put small packages between it and my front door. I stopped that when my new postman started leaving all my packages between the doors and my mail would blow all over.

I used to have 3 Go Lions all small. With Princess Allura. Now I have a Small Go Lion and 5 Go Lion Lions.

The Masterpiece Voltron is not a toy, it is just a collectible. It's just there.

ThreeZero is doing Voltron! Really like this looks of this one, seems very true to the animation without a lot of stylizing and fully changeable. Probably going to cost around $500 though...

I really don't see anything with the Three-Zero version that isn't in the SOC. That one is still gold.

The SOC is more like a modern version of the original toy while the ThreeZero version is closer to the cartoon with the attempt to hide the lion legs. It's far from perfect and I hope they make a lot of adjustments to get even closer to the cartoon style, I don't like the way the back legs of the Yellow and Blue Lions are only partially covered up awkwardly.

I wish the Super 7 Ultimates was better. The arms are too high and much too long to make up for it. The arm lions have long faces while the feet are too squashed. And I can't even begin to guess why his face has so much blue.

Image

My current favorite Voltron is the recent Playmates classic Voltron, I just wish they had used the same leg hiding gimmick that they used in the Galaxy Defender version.

I missed out on the Playmates Classic. You can find some of them for really cheap but black and one other go for WAYYYY too much. I never noticed the leg hiding, to be honest. I always thought they were exposed. The Super 7 version looks good but isn't fun to handle at all.

It's just a cheat to give the animators less detail to work with, but the only time you see the legs folded is during the actual combining sequence. After that they're just gone and the space they should be in is filled out. In my mind they're just covered up to keep them from being exposed to damage during battle. So for me a proper animated version which we rarely get has the legs covered while toy version always has them exposed. That's my take anyway, I love them all regardless.

Next time I watch Voltron I'll have to keep an eye out.
