We all like action figures, right? Normally the action figures I like are robots, cyborgs, or any configuration thereof. But once in a while I'll grab some aliens, monsters, or other assorted beasties that catch my eye. This time the eye-taker was a 4 inch scale action figure of the Greek monster known as Medusa!

Cut to me 2 years ago, browsing the interwebs for something to spend a few bucks on, when I come across Boss Fight Studios' Kickstarter page for Greek themed interchangeable action figures called Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. (Highly Articulated Character Kit System)! There were other action figure kickstarters I was interested in, like a 4 inch scale military set, or the 6 inch scale Gothitropolis by The Four Horsemen (one of the Gothitropolis figures was a Duck warrior named Minotaur who had a huge battle axe and a horned helmet! WHY DID I PASS THAT UP?!). However, Boss Fight Studios' offerings were more in my price range.

Two years, production issues, and a dock-workers strike later, and I finally received my action figure that I helped fund! Boss Fight Studio did a good job of keeping people up to date on the progress of their new budding toyline. However I, and many other people who threw money at them, began to get a bit antsy what with MANY other kickstarter projects going belly up with things like stolen money, a poopy final product, or the project owners running off with all the cash and spending it. Thankfully, Boss Fight were good on their word and they delivered a brilliant product!

They put a lot of time and effort into making these things amazing, and it shows in the little details, like every muscle molded in, every scale and bone. Even the packaging is nice! Normally when I get new toys I throw the packaging out, but I think I'll keep this one! Other than the Medusa, they also sent a pink skeleton action figure as a freebie! While Medusa is the main attraction, I'm actually finding myself having more fun with the skeleton.

All their parts can be swapped around and interchanged, but I didn't want to pull the skeleton all the way apart because I have giant ham hands and he feels more prone to breaking. The whole idea is to have a bunch of figures to change parts around with, but as I don't have the money that I did in 2014, I'll probably be sticking to these two for a bit.

I like putting the arm armor on the skeleton, but since he's got no meat on his bones, Boss Fight Studios were kind enough to send some rubbery, clear spacers so that the armor doesn't just slip right off. It seems that there should be a spacer for each limb, but I only seem to have gotten three of them. That's fine though, that's really all he needs seeing as he has no organs to protect.

Boss Fight Studio released Medusa, some Skeletons, as well as some spartan warriors, snake warriors, amazons, and a spartan warrior who's painted up to look like he's been turned to stone. As well as a few weapon packs and blank male and female bodies with no paint on them at all for people who are into customization.

I may actually pick more of these things up! I'll definitely pick up more skeletons to add to my Un-Death metal band. But that's for another time, when I have spare change to throw at them. Until then these two are a nice pair of desk space-taker-uppers.

Straightening out the knock-knees of my Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S skeleton with a hot water to cold water bath when I realized it made for a good photo opportunity.

Took my action figures out for a walk. They needed some fresh air and I needed coffee filters. (additional picture in the Awesome Pictures and Poses thread)
