Hi, nobody responded to this yet, which is too bad since I wish someone could give me some answers about the end and how Optimus was able to defeat Thunderwing with just a gun when no one else could. It happens to be one of the main points why I do not think this story is as good as the rest, due to the rather weak ending.

Right on, Will.

Okay, so you’re more or less right about the ending of Stormbringer being pretty weak. However, it was stated somewhere in there, by Jetfire, that Thunderwing basically just ran out of juice. Optimus wasn’t necessarily able to defeat him so much as Thunderwing basically just tuckered out.

It’s a half-assed explanation, true. But it’s at least an explanation, so I’ve never been too bothered by it.

Yeah, that does sound familiar... >:oP

3. Stormbringer What I love most about Transformers is when it embraces the idea of 'Giant Alien Robots'. Earth is boring and generic, show us Real Sci-Fi, show us the stars. Again another outstanding reimagining in Thunderwing, as IDWverse Incredible Hulk. A mad, near-unstoppable force of nature that ultimately brought about Cybertron's ruin.
What I liked most was that in the end, no one could beat him. He simply ran out of juice. It's a shame no writer was upto the challenge of using him effectively after this book.

I meant in Terms of in story explanations. Jetfire is the one who actually exposits what happened.

Sorry, I was agreeing with you while reiterating in answer to Will's point that no one had replied to the previous comment on Stormbringer.

To be honest, the most ridiculous thing Optimus 'God-Bot' Prime ever did in IDWverse in that vain, was One Punch a Gestalt... Suspension of disbelief was out the window there..

Ah, right on! ;)^

Yeah, Optimus during Furman’s run was pretty OP (pun intended). I don’t know if it can be thought of as “too much” though, given that it was what we were used to at the time. It wasn’t really anything new, but it hadn’t necessarily overstayed it’s welcome yet.

You say that but in his first IDW fight with Megatron, he loses quite hard. Then again, Furman's run did give Megs a level of near invincibility he never really elaborated on. One that was taken to crazy extremes with Bombertron later.

I asked my question after what you wrote since i still didnt get what Optimus had to do with it. From a comic storytelling perspective it really looked like he had something to do with Thunderwing's downfall when no one else could. And now i also know who explains what in the book.

And as for Bomber Megatron, that is OP to the max. He goes up against DVoid alone and it actually looks like a fair fight.

Honestly, my list is pretty different. Here it is:
#5: Tie between Lost Light #20 and Salvation -Big points for LL, and Salvation is a great conclusion to the Dinobots' story arc
#4: Windblade Volume 2 5,6, and 7 -This is where Windblade's story gets interesting for real
#3: 'Til All Are One -all of it, for the simple reason that it's so good
#2: Last Stand of the Wreckers -All reasons mentioned above
#1: The Dying of The Light -Could it be anything other than this? :rodimusstar: :rodimusstar:
HM's to All Hail Megatron, Redemption, and my personal favorite: MTMTE 43: The One Where They Go To Earth

'Til all are one :BH-PREDACON:
