I don't see how this a change of personality like you had claimed. This is a reset of the status quo.

Personalities evolve and develop over time. The younger Optimus from Exodus had a much more open and exuberant personality than his more stoic, introverted present-day self in Prime.

Okay, so your point is that because Optimus became Orion Pax during the season two premiere, being returned the Matrix was a personality change because it was a direct transformation from exuberant to introverted?

Short version: Optimus' current personality is the result of thousands of years of character development. When he lost the Matrix, he suffered a memory-wipe that undid all that. When he got it back, he also had his memories restored. So, basically, the Matrix had nothing to do with his original shift in personality.

Ok, so I dont frequent here so often anymore, so pardon me if its already been discussed, but you know how sabreblade's always on about Rescue Bots and Prime being in the same universe? I dont disagree, but would like to note that the Beast Hunters OP reformat makes him look alot like he does on Rescue Bots. Especially with how the face is on the toy. Makes you wonder just how far ahead this stuff gets planned in advance...

It's not me who originally said that. Jeff Kline himself confirmed it in an interview.

But as for Optimus, we don't know if he will or won't get his BH toy body. But his RB cartoon body is meant to resemble his RB toy body, which itself is based on G1 Optimus's body. The reason Optimus looks different in the RB cartoon is A) that show has a different art style, and B) Hasbro sadly seems to not give two cents about aesthetics when it comes to the Aligned continuity. To them, characters can appear in new bodies with no explanations, and they're okay with it. The current biggest offender to this is how Optimus has a new body in FOC from his WFC body, despite that game taking place mere moments after WFC.

Although this semi-confirms it.

They wont kill optimus. He hasnt died since ROTF. The last cartoon he died in, if I remember right, was Armada, and I dont remember the details of his revival.

He will get reformatted, most likely into that new body just in time to deal with Megatron in a "Final Battle"

He'll probably get the new body to also differentiate him from Magnus.

No. It was Animated. A death in the pilot that lasted under a minute or so.

And metaphorically, he already did die in Prime when he turned into Orion Pax.

He died in Animated, in which he held the record of being dead-then-revived in no more than a whopping 75 seconds! :P

Why does Shockwave have a linkage from his gun to his back? Since weapons can be internalized isn't it a bit superfluous?

Cuz that's an iconic aspect of Shockwave that goes back as far as G1 Shockwave.

Does anyone know whey they removed the elite guard autobot emblem from smokescreens shoulders ? Was watching new recruit it was there then watched then watched a couple diffrent episodes and it was gone. Just wondering if they took it off for any reason.

I was going to say that gun hoses are objectively awesome, but the "G1 fanwank" explanation is equally correct.

Maybe it went away after he scanned his Earth altmode.

Or maybe he took it off since the Elite Guard isn't really around anymore and didn't need to keep weaing it.

Although, I would have personally preferred he keep the elite guard symbols. They looked cool.

This same error appeared in "The Human Factor" when Knock Out found Cylas/Breakdown's signal. I think the Autobot's map of the US in "Darkest Hour" was geographically correct, but I can't be certain.

Or maybe in this continuity Louisiana's geography changed after Unicron's morning stretch caused earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis to all strike a state known to be bashed by natural disasters.
