I must make a correction to one of my posts in this thread, as I wasn't remembering something at the time:

Is that a trick question?

When I had written this, I clearly had forgotten that they HAVE created a story in which Bumblebee gets killed off.

..Except that it's just not a cartoon or a movie. It was the G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers: The Art of War comic series, in which he was killed by Serpent O.R. (Serpentor), the Son of Megatron.

He dies, and doesn't come back. It's not even a heroic sacrifice, but a quick, cold-hearted murder.

And it's near the middle of the story, so the Autobots really don't have that much time to focus on his death, what with the then-current crisis at hand.

Though, they do manage to hold a funeral for him by his memorial at the very end of the final issue, but it too is quite a small and brief moment:

I was thinking about an official figure of this new coloured Bumblebee. Based on what Counterpunch said on what I think was episode 60 of the Twincast about case assortment weights, I'll be very surprised if Hasbro bothers with this. I imagine the RiD figure would be too light (if that's a valid argument). The First Edition figure might have a comparable weight to the Beast Hunters line, but then again it is First Edition. Takara are pretty facetious about show variants, so I guess those of us who want it will be looking to them. They weren't above using FE figures in the Arms Micron line, so fingers crossed.

I've only just watched the video introduction for Bumblebee's new colours: 400mph? That's just stupid.
