Truly, literally the only things we know about this show are exactly the same as the only things that YOU know about this show. For reals, Holmes. For reals.

I have to say that I'm interested in where they take Steeljaw. However, this Decepticon of the week thing is a bad idea considering the likely outcome is that most of them will have generic characterization with little to no depth. I'm hoping that they start dividing up the Decepticon cast after season one so that we can have a primary set of characters on that side to follow and enjoy.

I dont mind that format for a show but what does suck about the format is that it means we will get few decepticon toys. It's a lot like Batman show in this way where there are so few villains who get multiple show appearances that the toy line ends up being Batman in a bunch of different outfits with one Joker toy.

More diverse than what we've seen already? Is such a thing possible?

I guess he means not just all animal hybrids with vehicle alt modes.

What would the alternative be? Vehicular robots with animal altmodes? We've already got Fracture and Filch with the old standard humanoid robot modes. If there needs to be more diversity, then there'd have to be more than two kinds of robot modes (human-based and animal-based).

Like, vehicle-based robots, plant-based robots, weapon-based robots, building-based robots, food-based robots, etc.

Jeff Kline Says Robots in Disguise Season 2 in Production

Unicron.com has recently interviewed Jeff Kline, an executive producer on Transformers: Prime, Rescue Bots, and the upcoming Robots in Disguise.

During the Interview, Jeff Kline confirmed that Robots in Disguise Season One was completed and that they are starting to work on season two.

Jeff Kline: TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IS DISGUISE IS THE OFFICIAL NAME. RID IS CURRENTLY WRAPPING PRODUCTION ON 26 EPS. FOR SEASON 1… AND WRITING/RECORDING/BOARDING FOR SEASON 2. IT’S SLATED TO PREMIERE ON CARTOON NETWORK IN THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO, THOUGH I HAVEN’T YET HEARD A FIRM “PREMIERE DATE.” BUT, HONESTLY, MY CONTRACT WITH HASBRO ENDED IN DECEMBER, SO I MIGHT BE THE VERY LAST PERSON TO KNOW! (AFTER 5+ YEARS, FELT LIKE IT WAS TIME TO LIVE WITH MY FAMILY IN MAINE AGAIN…)

Stay tuned for a Part 2 of this interview coming soon.

And for the context of the rest of the questions asked in both this part and Part 2, these questions were submitted way back before the name of the show was revealed, with Jeff only getting back to Perceptor (who conducted the interview) with these answers recently.

Why is it all in caps? That's really annoying to read.

It's odd that they'd start working on Season 2 before we even hear of a premiere date.

The interview was formatted with the questions in lowercase and the answers in uppercase. I dunno why that was decided, but it's what Perceptor went with.

Well, Animated season 2 was fully completed before season 1 even started airing. ;)

A little sure of themselves, are they not? What if the show bombs?

Well, they already have three seasons of 78 episodes total planned.

Besides, it has a toyline to support it, and if a show like Rescue Bots can last just as long (it's already in its third season), I think RID might not need to fear itself bombing so much as it would need to fear CN mistreating it.

The show is made to sell toys, that's the reason they cancelled Young Justice, the toys werent selling. I guess there are already enough toys in the piepline that they need the show to be around for at least another season to get them to sell those.

That is the thing. I am not sure this line is doing well at this point. I never see them move at my local Target and I have read a lot of complaints about the quality of some of the figures. Especially with One Step Underbite and Warrior class Grimlock. And the price points are not helping. $10 for a one step is pretty steep, especially when one mold is crap, and another is just an AOE repaint. Fortunately, the Warriors are still $15, but even that is high for a deluxe. $12 would be a lot more modest. And don't get me started on the Legion class....

One would assume it will do well based on the last few shows they have put out, but what if this one is overkill, with the existence of one kid friendly cartoon already?

Thing is, though, this one will be airing on CN, which more peopl have access to. Prime didn't get as much viewership as it hoped for due to its being on a channel that not enough people have. I'd wager more people will be watching RID than Rescue Bots (which was the case with Prime and RB anyway due to the still existent prejudice towards RB) since it's gonna be on a more accessible channel. Between the two shows, it's RID that seems to be the one Hasbro wants more people watching than its younger show.

The Decepticons for this show are Steeljaw, Hammerstrike, Underbite, Bisk, Chop Shop, Terrashock, Thunderhoof, Filch, Springload, Ped, Quillfire, Fracture, and Clampdown. Which ones of these is the hothead of the Decepitcons? :CON:
