I know this has nothing to do with anything, but the solicitations always make me think someone needs to make some kinda hardcore Bioshock-esc Transformers Video Game based around the IDW methos.

IDW Publishing Comics for 18 February Delayed Due to Port Congestion

It looks like February will also see its chunk of delays in IDW Publishing's comics output. Courtesy of a piece of Comic Book Resources, we learn that due to issues with the Long Beach, CA, ports, the entirety of next week's shipment will be delayed - and that includes both current Transformers ongoings, the Complete Allspark Almanac and the Primacy TPB. Read more here, and a snippet below.

IDW Publishing has announced that its titles scheduled to arrive in stores on Feb. 18 will not be making anyone's pull list for the time being -- and the following weeks' titles may be affected as well. "Due to the ongoing problems at West coast ports, our normal shipping procedures have been completely interrupted, causing unpredictable delays," IDW's statement reads. "Regrettably, this has resulted in all our books planned for release on 2/18 to be delayed. We’ve looked at every possible scenario to prevent this, but the situation is completely beyond our control. We are taking steps to improve this for the immediate future, but the books and products that are currently on the water cannot be re-directed. We will be updating our weekly releases and keeping you informed as the situation works toward a resolution. We understand this is not an ideal situation, and apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and look forward to things getting back to normal in ensuing weeks."

IDW has informed CBR News that all digital releases will be delayed as well, in order to maintain a synchronized schedule between the two formats.

I know they have no control over it but damn it IDW this is how you're making me feel now.

Man, I'm going to have like 50 comics to pick up at the end of Smarch. Lousy Smarch weather Ports.

Well, at least this time it's not a horrific truck accident. (Did those drivers pull through?)

I mean, this delay is just a small part of what could be lost billions to the economy, but at least no one's hurt, so...yay?

The port situation is a major problem affecting the entire West Coast and it's now spilling over into all other North American and overseas ports. It's more than just simple congestion and is likely to last another few months before even starting to get better. Every company in the US who imports anything is feeling the stress of this situation, and as someone who works with it daily, believe me, it's incredibly frustrating. I feel for IDW because everything really is out of their hands at the moment and options are incredibly limited. Their response is one that I have to try to explain to our customers, nearly word for word, on a daily basis.
