And speaking as the guy who wrote the Top 5 Avatars list, I love writing these and coming up with lists. The avatars was very fun and interesting too. Mind you, almost all avatars are from IDW, so really couldn't help that, but there was no lack of originality to them though. And lots of people probably didn't even know about avatars and how they can reflect personality, so yeah, it is great to bring something to fans that they may not really know

As for the DJD, 3rd Party so far has heeded the call, and MMC is making them faithfully to the comic. I don't see HasTak making them look even close to what MMC s doing.

Actually, yeah. I would love to see your list, too, Randomhero. See, one of the hardest things about this list was in keeping it "Comics Only." Which meant that if one of these characters had a toy, it nullified the character. And you forgot about Xaaron, who is number 2 on the list. What is he, nailpolish remover?

As for Flame, he was up there, what with his crazed, homicidal plans and zombie warriors, but in all honesty, Pharma did the mad scientist/doctor bit just a bit better. Can I help it that James Roberts has been pumping out such a plethora of inspired and fun original characters?

with the Impactor coming out in the subscription service, a yellow/ not gold plastic, version of the Rumble/Frenzy/eject/rewind mini tank toy would make a good Xarron

I think the 2007 movie leader class Megatron would work better. Only the head would need to be retooled.

Was he even a proper transformer though? From the images I've seen I can't recall him looking like a transformer. Besides I much rather have a Nova Prime figure

He was supposedly one of the first Transformers and the ancestor of the Decepticons, so yeah. Goodness knows what he'd turn into.



The DJD would make for interesting toys since they're all (well not Tarn so much) designed to, ah, interact with other Transformers. Though I suppose actual toys would end up drastically different by necessity, and probably geared toward very specific "victim" toys, given how wildly varied TFs are. Like with Helex, the chest chamber would have to be HUGE just to fit in a Mini-Con. And the infinite varieties of kibble would make it incredibly hard to figure out a "universal" chair mode for Kaon...

DJD will all be getting figures. You should pick up Cynicus (Vos) Its definitely worth the money.

As for Emirate Xaaron, he's clearly based on Megatron's character model with a new head and a few other changes. Doesn't change the fact there's no official toy, but kitbashing one might be pretty easy.

As for Nautica, Jeen0808, she is number 6. She was literally bumped out by the depth of story-telling that was created through the others. I'm with you, though. I've really been enjoying her in the MtMtE series, and have been sad the past couple of months because she hasn't been in them. But as with everything, these lists are fluid and I could certainly see her rising a bit higher up the list if her story gets all the attention that Roberts has been known to give his characters.

Not trying to pick you apart here, but Scrounge was the honorable mention, not Nautica, so where does that place him?

The article specified that 3P figures were not counted. Having said that, I think most of us know about MMC's DJD. I look forward to the rest.

YES!!! I'd forgotten about building Guiltor(I got the same two pack on clearance some time ago), but never could get it quite right. That looks about right to me, and I have built it. Maybe I'll add some lightning bolts around the chest with a paint pen on mine. Does it transform though?

I have 3 ideas (2 of which are technically from manga but I don't think that particularly matters).

1: LIEGE MAXIMO. And no, not the piddly Loki Ripoff from the Covenant of Primus. I'm talking the Arch-fiend from the very last page of G2 that makes Unicron himself tremble with fear. You know, this guy:

Liege Maximo. It shall be so.

2: Super Megatron. From the Battlestars manga IIRC, this design was just pure badass. Transforming from a robot into...a robot with more guns on it into a space battleship into what seems to be some kind of giant handgun of DOOM. I know absolutely zero about Battlestars, but boy oh boy does this design deserve immortalizing in plastic.



3: Kiss Players Legion. Yes, they were creepy as all hell, spawned from the worst thing to ever grace Transformers and were basically just Alternators Windchargers with new heads, but they were so gloriously disturbing that part of me kinda wants one (preferably in CHUG scale though). Honestly, if it weren't for the fact they were included alongside all sorts of other really, really out of order...stuff they'd probably be remembered as some of the most uniquely terrifying things in Transformers history. Maybe I'm biased because Alien is my favourite movie ever and as such I have a fondness for biomechanical, phallus-themed flesh-eating monsters, but I kinda feel like the Legion deserve to be something more than just a horrible footnote in a particularly loathsome chapter of Transformers.

No pictures because seriously, these guys are HORRIBLE. If Takara were to ever make toys of them (which given how poorly received Kiss Players was in Japan is highly unlikely) they'd probably have to make those tongues a little bit less obviously penile.

lol, I am redoing lists I made a while back to see what had been made in the meantime. We got some beast wars (Blackarachnia), lots of G1 (The Dinobots, Elita-1, Sky Lynx and Over Freaken Lord) but no one from this top 5. We did get Scounge though. Still, redoing this list would give me the very same top 5 (though I might switch out Tyrest with Velocity).
