Bob Budiansky, Jim Salicrup, Dave Hunt, and Ken Lashley at East Coast ComicCon April 16 & 17

Marvel G1 Transformers comic writers Bob Budiansky and Jim Salicrup are returning to East Coast ComicCon this year along with Marvel G1 inker Dave Hunt. Mr. Hunt brought original art pages from the unreleased Marvel Comics adaptation of Dweller in the Depths to last years's ECCC. I don't know if he'll do it again but it might be worth checking out his portfolios at the show to see what possibly unpublished stuff he has still lying around in his collection.

Also there will be Ken Lashley, the artist who did all the designs for TransTech. And Michael Golden who did the cover for Marvel's issue #2 is scheduled to appear.

Peter Cullen as Featured Guest of Montreal Comiccon 2016

PostPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2016 1:05 pm
by william-james88
The Montreal Comiccon has been growing immensely in the recent years to become one of the biggest cons in Canada. However, this year, it takes things to the next level by having the one and only Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, as a featured guest. This is the very first appearance of any Transformers G1 voice actor, and way to hit a homerun on the fist chance at bat.

Peter Cullen’s many voices are well known throughout the world. The 2011 Emmy® nominated voice actor is best known for providing the voice of Optimus Prime from the Transformers franchise. Be it feature films (Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon and the most recent box office smash, Transformers: Age of Extinction), animated series (Transformers Prime, Transformers: Robots In Disguise, Rescue Bots ), video games or anything in the Transformers universe that requires the deep resonating heroic voice of Optimus Prime, it is Cullen’s talented voice that is heard.

The Montreal Comiccon will take place from July 8-10 2016 at Palais des congrès.

Sadly, I dont think there will be. I think they only tape the panels with the stars, like Shatner. I dont even know if the Peter Cullen Panel will be taped (professionally).

It was pretty fun afterall. There was a line up, I couldnt beleive it. Unintenionally it turned into an Abbot and Costello act where I was the straight man and Kanrabat was the one cracking jokes. Most of the jokes were about him swearing while trying to transform them live and pieces coming off.

The Peter Cullen panel was great. He reiteated somthing I still do not believe: that he is playing the same optimus in the films as the one he portrayed in G1. But hey, he's the official sourcefor that info on characterisation, and will be strict about what he cant say as optimus, so I must abide. Also, he had to audition 3 times to play the role of Optimus in the films. He was seen as a voice actor like any other. That sounds pretty nuts to have Peter freaken Cullen audition for the role of Optimus.
Oh and he is from my hometown and the town fo the show: Montreal. Didnt know that.
