This is how I felt about TAAO. While I don't enjoy LL as much as MTMTE, I will be very sad to see it go.

Actually my point was more why would idw cancel something that sold more? Unless the people at the top care about the quality of their output (and by this I mean are avid readers themselves so they can spot problems) then decisions will be based on money and external factors (trends, accusations etc). If the owners dud have problems with Roberts work then they could have handled it by giving him an editor or making the one he has get a bit more hands on.

I’ve been thinking it for ages but couldn’t say anything because #spoilers, but - as this Alex Milne / Josh Perez cover to Lost Light #18 demonstrates - the last stretch of The MTMTE Saga is basically Avengers: Infinity War.

How is it spoilery?

I finally caught up on Lost Light, I am LOVING it! Was not too much of a fan at first, but the mutineers trilogy was fun (while maybe a bit less nuanced than previous Roberts) and I really liked the Scavengers story. And that most recent cliffhanger is probably my favourite Roberts ever gave us. Cant wait for the next issue.

Not necessarily. When he said like Infinity War, Roberts may have just meant that the Scavengers and Lost Lighters will finally be in an issue together; like the Gaurdians and the Avengers in Infinity War. At least that’s how I took it when I saw it on Twitter.

BTW that is cover B. The regular cover A is shown here. (The article almost fooled me for a second because I remember it Drift and Ratchet. Yeah LL has been driving me bonkers but I am a sucker for the favs. What can you do?)

Other than Windblade (maybe Drift) I doubt any of the new characters well make the leap. Although if Windblade had remained comics-only, I doubt she would have either. New characters are typically the first on the chopping block in a Reboot.

I never said he would be in the new continuity, I said he would create it, even if he blows himself up to do it I wouldn't put it past barber and Roberts to have planned it for so long.

Also there will be a drift in the new continuity but the question is what will he look like as in the different mediums he's been in, he's had a different look in each.

You mean how Ultra Magnus goes on a quest for a new hammer, then comes down and saves everyone in the nick of time?

Actually, that would be nice to see a big explosion out of nowhere, then the truck form of Magnus comes barreling out of the smoke.

I'm so happy you got the reference! I even chose every single one of those characters deliberately. Well, maybe Rung was the one I should have changed, but I needed certain circumstances to line up to IW.

And Magnus would totally make a great Thor, you're right! But instead, he loses his hammer, and gets a new MP Prime Axe!

Thanks to a heads up from Podcaster extraordinaire ScottyP, we have word that yet another Lost Light #18 cover has made its way to the light, and this time it is the special 10 issue limited edition RI cover!

Following what has been called the Avengers: Infinity War styled cover, drawn by longtime More Than Meets The Eye artist Alex Milne and colored by partner in crime Josh Perez, we have yet another cover done by the same team, and it's a bit different than the Avengers styled one. this cover only features 2 recognizable characters: Rodimus and Ratchet, along with some strange new rock lords/rubble bots/stone cons (reference: ScottyP) with a spike for a head and a hole in the chest that looks like a fusion cannon.

What does this mean the crew of the Lost Light are getting into? We have no idea! So feel free to speculate below, and let us know what you think!

Those are new characters, they are Omega Guardians from Spotlight Hot Rod

And Omega Guardians means The Magnificence is at play here somehow.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about the Omega Guardians. Time to go back through that one again! Certainly time with the delay in LL 18's release ><

IDW's Lost Light series has covers coming out of nowhere! With all the covers now revealed for issue 18, we get a special look at a new cover for issue 20, done by none other than the Wrecker's author and artist Nick Roche along with his colorist in crime Josh Burcham! This new cover features crewmembers from the Lost Light who ended up being regretful mutineers, among them Inferno, Blaster, Hound, Bluestreak, Brawn, and Huffer. These guys all appear to be ready to fight or flee in terror from some unseen enemy, common among the issue covers these days for Lost Light.

This cover was officially tweeted out by Nick Roche himself, where he describes it as issue 20's "B" cover. The same cover can be found on a Penguin Random House listing for Lost Light volume 4 as well, which will collect issues 19-25, and thus end the series. It is unsure if this cover will be used for the actual trade paperback, or if this is just a place holder.
