Much to your admin's two minds about it all,* Panini Comics - who publish the Italian translations of Marvel comics - will be releasing the Italian translation of IDW Publishing's Transformers, starting from The Death of Optimus Prime! The first volume, due in May, will include the not-really-a-one-shot and the first three issues of More Than Meets the Eye from way back when. Check out the new blurb, in translation and including the original Italian spelling of the brand 'Trasformers', below!

With a new film due in cinemas soon, the new Trasformers series debuts in Italy! With The Death of Optimus Prime! we find a new beginning for Autobots and Decepticons, in a fierce war for the past several millennia. All robots are called back to home planet Cybertron from Earth... and here the problems begin! Is it actually easy to leave war behind you?

We reported a while back on the latest venture from Panini comics, who have acquired the translation rights for the Italian version of IDW Publishing's Transformers comics - and they start appearing at comics shops, book shops and news stands as of today! The photo below, by Macro Disturbo of Transformers Italia, show the first volume of 96 pages, containing The Death of Optimus Prime, and More Than Meets the Eye #1, #2 and #3 - priced at €8.90 ($10 USD), the first of three annual volumes for now.

The previous series, Infiltration, was never finished due to lack of sales and poor distribution/marketing, so here's hoping and nudging Italian readers to pick up the new material to ensure full coverage of the (kinda) current run of Transformers comics!

Yup, I still consider that version of Rodimus to be one of the ugliest and trying-way-too-hard-to-look-cool Transformer designs ever. I thank Hasbro/Takara that they didn't base Titans Roddy on it like they did with other toys (such as Ultra Magnus and that damn mimimus)

Which is, completely unironically; exactly why I love it. A lot of the time Transformers designs aren't made specifically to fit the character - we've seen a rise of it in the last decade or so, but most of the time it was that the toy was designed first and a character was based around it. G1 Sideswipe wasn't designed to evoke the character of the daredevil wrote of in his bio, he was designed as a cool looking robot that transformed from a Lamborghini. And then he was cast as a daredevil.

MTMTE for me kicks it out the park for character designs. Rodimus' design is edgy, and trying too hard to be cool, and absolutely screams 'PAY ATTENTION TO ME LOOK AT ME I AM THE CENTER OF ATTENTION'. Which evokes his insecurities and personality traits and hence being a very good design. Context matters, yo.

Also why are we talking about Rodimus' awesome design, for once he isn't hogging the spotlight and this is about a translation
