And now, seemingly without any fanfare, I noticed last night Season 1 of RB Academny is streaming on Netflix.

It is sad because the original RB is *kind of* how my son was introduced into Transformers. It came out when he was 6, and was perfect for him, although he had seen other series thanks to me.

It is unfortunate however, as since these shows cater to such a young audience, the window for their appeal is very short. I'll agree they are well written, and teach good lessons However.... as was painfully obvious last night, my son, now 13 had zero interest in this, which is completely understandable.

I mean with the Original Series, BW, and Prime, you cant still watch those as an adult and be entertained. Not so much, especially with Academy that I'd argue skews even younger than the original RB.

So basically, I told my son this show is for his friends who have younger siblings. It is their turn to get their own show. If you have any kids ages 3-7, or know anybody who dies, let them know this is on Netflix now, and let them enjoy. ;)^

While I'm not really a fan of this show, many of you no doubt know I'm a numbers junkie. In fact I made a news announcement (on another site of course...) way back When Energon was airing in 2004 as to celebrating the franchises overall 500th episode (which unbeknownst to me was a special in Japan which was dubbed on CN as "Distribution"...although the count IMHO was off, a bit, it can be open to interpretation)

Now however, since the landscape of media has changed, we have some 5 minute episodes, and several series with 11 minute episodes. It becomes more difficult to keep track. If we were to solely count episodes, the franchise would probably be approaching 970. But using my system (counting basically for 21 minutes of content=1 episode). I have determined that the RB Academy Episodes "Hack Attack" & "Life of the Party" which recently aired to be the *900th* Episode of Transformers overall.

In either case. If you count each individually, or pair them up for content time, its a pretty impressive feat. Will there be any acknowledgement by Hasbro, TT or the Fandom as the franchise approaches it's 1000th overall episode? Only time will tell.

Who knows. When the first Rescue Bots series had its 100th episode, somebody goofed and ended up airing the 102nd episode as the 100th, leaving the ones that were intended to be numbers 100 and 101 to instead air as 101 and 102, completely throwing off the celebratory feel that the true 100th episode had.

Though, when the episodes were released contemporaneously through iTunes, this goof did not occur as the intended 100th episode did see release in its intended order, much to the confusion of everyone at the time who had no idea about the mix-up with Discovery Family and instead thought that iTunes goofed up at the time.

Already? I haven't finished slogging my way through season one yet.

(And why does RBA get so many more episodes than Cyberverse does? Cyberverse could use the extra screen time.)

by D-Maximal_Primal
Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian Sabrblade, we have news that the long awaited Rescue Bots Academy Season 2 Trailer is now live!

The Season 2 trailer is 90 seconds long, and gives us a look at the upcoming Rescue bots series, which centers around a group of young new recruits. Following the fact that this is Season 2, the season will focus in on the 2nd year of the recruits training, where each recruit is paired up with a Mentor, which includes the likes of Heatwave, Bumblebee, and Grimlock! We also see that Hot Shot has a lot going on, and it looks like he is set to be a stand out in season 2.

Sadly, there is no sign of Ratchet and Perceptor yet, who are both supposed to be in this new season.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Ratchet is on the left at 0:26, sporting a cyberverse design it seems.

Speaking of things to keep your little bots occupied, Hasbro is offering something for the younger fans. On their Instagram page, they offered a free, downloadable coloring page for parents to print that lets kids color in Optimus Prime and Hot Shot from the Rescue Bots Academy show. The picture is mirrored below, and you can download it for your kids (or yourself, no judgement ;) ) by clicking on the picture.

Rescue Bots Academy To End

PostPosted: Mon Jun 29, 2020 5:24 pm

Greetings Seibertronians. Today we bring you somber news as it appears that Rescue Bots Academy is coming to an end. One of the creators of the hit show have taken to twitter to thank all those that have worked on the series over at Boulder Media.

Image

This isn't just the end of the show though, but, unless Hasbro announce a continuation of sorts, this is the end of the Aligned Universe. Aligned started with the shows Transformers Prime and the original Rescue Bots, with the Activisions two Cybertron games also falling into this universes story line. Robots in Disguise 2015 carried the Prime storyline on until its own cancellation, leaving Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy to fly the flag for Aligned.

This is the original tweet by Pete Slattery.
Pete Slattery wrote:Today, I finish the first show I've directed. Three years, 104 episodes, an experience I won't forget. This was our team at the height of our power. An incredibly talented & enthusiastic bunch of artists. I'll miss them! #rescuebotsacademy #Transformers https://t.co/Fh7fnzGZFn

The series still has some episodes left to air before its end.

Have you been enjoying the run of Rescue Bots Academy? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews.

Did it run its course or is this because of current events?

Season 2 completed it's production and has had all of its episodes fully aired over in the UK, so it most likely ran its course.

Option #3: Several children looked it up on youtube, stumbled across the Police Academy cartoon by mistake, and were traumatized so badly that Hasbro decided to rebrand.

Cyberverse is wrapped too so wonder if this means anything for Boulder Studios or if that's reading too much into it.

Real shame. As kiddy as it is, I still admire what RBA did. Can’t wait for S2 to drop in the U.S!

Also, we have the titles for the rest of the episodes:

Yucky? How can you think that the rest of the little bots are yucky looking? I think that all the characters were cute. Expect for the adults. I find them creepy.

And I’m sad that I never got to see Medix as an ambulance.
