Much like for he IDW Publishing Transformers comics (discussion thread here), we also finally have news of a Japanese translation of the original Marvel series, to be released in Japan via HeroX.

The news so far, as announced on Twitter, will see the full US Marvel Transformers comics series, starting from February 23rd, 2018 for 2,560 yen (USD $23) and will include original Japanese commentaries plus a Marvel UK cover gallery, and some fan content, with the plan to release the full run depending on sales and interest. Like for the IDW material, these releases will also feature new cover art from Japanese creators, revealed through their Twitter account, so stay tuned for more!

Off topic, but I honestly prefer the Marvel Comics over the cartoon and even IDW! Also, Iwould love to see a lot more hhomages to the old covers; I know we got some previously existing, but I'd be more interested in seeing other franchises homage covers like the first issue, The New Order, and War Without End.

First off, I'd rather see they release a translation of the Takara Comics here in a nice collection or two, but I know that wont happen.

I also preferred the old Marvel Comics compaired to the DW or IDW stuff. I still love the G1 Cartoon.

I was excited when IDW went to release a continuation of the old Marvel series, until I saw it. IT didn't really start with where the old series left off, and it seemed they mostly wanted to toss their own creations into that Universe. It was so disappointing.

It might be a Japanese translation of the most recent reprints from IDW, as the Tweet says that the title of this series is "Transformers Classics".

Cover Reveal for Hero-X Transformers Classics 1 in Japanese Translation, by Oshima Yuki

If you remember, we brought you new a while ago about a Japanese edition of Transformers Classics - allegedly the original Marvel US run of the Transformers comics - in a first volume with a new cover to celebrate the transforming robots from Cybertron, as prepared by artist Oshima Yuki (who also worked on the Generations 2017 book cover, too, as a homage to issue #3 of Marvel US Transformers).

Hero-X has now release the cover image on Twitter, with pre-orders starting on February 23rd, and the artist has taken to his own account to show some of the process for the cover artwork, featuring Optimus Prime, Megatron, and more characters from the Autobot and Decepticon factions. Check it all out below!

Good evening, Hero X. Thank you very much for waiting for a long time. February 23 (pre) released [Transformers Classics Vol. 1] cover illustration will be released! Mr. Oshima was in charge of the cover illustration

Mr. Oshima's ' Transformers Classics Vol. 1 ' cover illustration is so cool, I think I will make a post card of the purchase benefits. Details such as the name of the bookstore that will cooperate soon will be announced on the official website (soon to be published). Please check this Twitter for the meantime.

Wow is Prime getting his hand blown off? That’s pretty violent for a cover. I like it. :WRECKERS:

Yuki Oshima was also responsible for the "Kiss Players" comic (and box illustrations?) :

The cover art looks more like a traditional illustration for a "Ladybird" book, rather than a comic. However, it doesn't look like a Transformer illustration used in a Ladybird book, if anyone gets what I mean. Lots of browns make it look muted and old to me. Perhaps that was the intention?

I like how they got the Nel Yomtov colors down for the most part. Prime's upper face (around his eyes and nose) should be blue like on the original toy, and I don't recall Ironhide ever having white knees, but otherwise it seems pretty spot-on.

Maybe it is because I have this "EVERYTHING IS AWESOME" attitude =P~, but I love the art on this cover.....no matter "who" might be the artist.
It reminds me of that awesome poster that everyone had (except for me) in the 80's, you know that one with the big Decepticon symbol in the background.

Don't remember that being a poster in the UK, but it was the cover to the Panini sticker album there.

Thanks for the info, I did not know about that sticker book, and the TFwiki says it was also released in the USA, guess I just missed it.
I do remember the sticker book made for Transformers The Movie though.

That sticker album was the only one I ever completed. There was an article ages ago, that worked out the probabilities of getting every sticker (without swapping with freinds) and the average prir completing any given sticker album.

It was very expensive.

Basicall, sticker albums were the IAPs of their dy. Many albums were even given away free, like freemium games these days...

And finally, still courtesy of Loopaza Mega store on Facebook and their scans of Figure King #241, we have some additional information and images regarding the Hero-X publication project of Japanese translations of the original Marvel Transformers comics.

What we see in the images mirrored below is a re-offering of the cover art by Oshima Yuki for volume 1, as first seen here, along with the de-lettering and re-lettering and balloon placing process to adapt a Western script to Japanese conventions and words, and a sequence of original covers with commentary (though all in Japanese, so we currently have little idea of what is said - if you can read and translate, please let us know!). Check it all out below!

Hero-X Transformers Classics Japanese Volume 2 Cover Revealed

by D-Maximal_Primal
Thanks to @heroxnet on Twitter, we have the cover for the upcoming Volume 2 of the Hero-X Transformers Classics!

As you might remember, Hero-X is releasing the Japanese translation of the original Marvel Transformers comics, complete with Japanese commentary and covers done by Japanese artists. Volume 1 was released in February of this year, and if enough interest is shown, they will print the entire US run in Japanese.

This cover for Volume 2 was done by artist Ichikara Hirofumi, and is an homage to the famous scene where Megatron and Shockwave have their final battle for leadership. This new volume is expected to drop by the end of November.

Check out the cover below, and let us know what you think of it below!
