We have yet more comics news for you today, as Penguin Random House have listed a new Transformers original graphic novel which appears completely un-linked to any continuity or established fictional universe currently active, and may indeed just be working to build up some hype for the Bumblebee spin-off movie - though the story seems to have nothing to do with it, penned by the talents of Chris Sims and Chad Bowers, illustrated by Angry Birds Transformers famed Marcelo Ferreira!

The book is titled Transformers: Bumblebee - Win if you Dare, and will be out in September 2018 (two months prior to the movie coming out), and the full listing, including pre-order links, can be found here. IDW Publishing is behind the book, of course, but this one is specifically aimed at kids of ages 7 and higher - check out the blurb and cover art below!

IDW has reached out to us with a new press release advertising their upcoming one-shot Graphic Novel called Transformers: Bumblebee – Win If You Dare. The new novel is intended for release on September 11, 2018 and is set to cost $9.99. The novel will follow a Bumblebee adventure, where life is never easy when you aren't the tallest or the fastest Autobot around. It is also important to note that this appears to not be related to any current continuity.

All the way back in February IDW made a press release to tell the fans about a new graphic novel starring Bumblebee. Thanks to Newsarama, we have the full preview of the comic for your reading pleasure as well as all of the details on the book itself. We have to say that it looks pretty interesting already!

We think that it is worthy to note that this story takes place outside of the regular IDW universe and exists in a universe similar to G1. Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Blaster are all featured in their G1 designs but Windblade is included too. It will be interesting to see which other characters will be in this story when the book is released. If you would like a copy it is up for pre-order on Amazon when it is released on October 9, 2018. Seems a lot more kid friendly then the usual IDW fare, not that's a bad thing, though I can see some being turned off by the faces but then again, there was some stories/pictures in the 80s that did similar.

Also that last panel, what was going on with Sideswipe and... What looks like the diagnostic Drone from Beast Machines?

I think it makes them a lot more friendly looking which is good for some, especially kids. I like a mix of happy to serious.

Not my cup of tea. Too simplistic and the face annoys the hell out of me. Panel colors are nonexistent. Coloring is dull. Sorry, I like my comics detailed. This is too amateurish

This looks as fun as it can be for a kids one off. But once again, Windblade is just stuffed into a place she doesn’t belong. They should have used Arcee if they wanted to go for a complete G1 look. Samurai-themed Autobot flyer just doesn’t work here. Don’t we have enough of her in every other facet of TF Media. I don’t hate Windeblade herself, I just hate how she’s becoming a new Bumblebee

Windblade being in it doesn't bother me as I just see it as an offshoot of g1. Also they couldn't have put arcee in there as she's on Cybertron chilling with Hot Rod and Springer ;-)
