Thanks to Snakas Blog, we have word that the next chapter of the King Poseidon manga is now available to read! The manga, which continues the adventures seen here, picks up with Star Convoy, based on his upcoming Takara Selects figure, doing battle with the assembling Seacons and the combined King Poseidon form. Important to note is that King Poseidon is based on his Masterforce depiction, where the limbs were just drones and not individuals and showed up in bulk mostly just to be destroyed.

The below manga is in Japanese, but we can expect some sort of translation in the coming days.

Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

That was AWESOME.

I Can't read a lick of it, but I don't have to to understand everything and know the Piranhaclones just peeved Star Convoy the heck off.

On a side note, did Star Convoy show up in animation at all?

Nope. His series, Return of Convoy, came out in 1991, one year after the last piece of Japanese G1 animation, Zone, would be released on VHS in 1990. Star Convoy only got to appear in story pages and just one manga chapter (until the 21st Century, that is).

I'm hoping he ends homaged or used in more, i love his design. And he has the best Optimus head (which is why it was used on the BattleCore Prime and is my favorite)

Huh, so Halfshell and Turtler are working for somebody. Dark Nova, perhaps?

And is... is this comic insinuating that Star Convoy also wields Angolmois Energy of his own?

Convoy: I am Convoy, Leaders of the Cybertrons. WHo is it that created you?
Seacon 1: WHo are the Cybertrons?
Convoy: We are. We are all Cybertrons. And I your leader.
Seacon 1: I didn't know we had a leader. I thought we were an autonomous collective.
Seacon 2: You're fooling yourself. We're living in a dictatorship, a self-perpetuation autocracy in which the working bots-
Seacon 1: Oh, there you go talking about working bots again!
Seacon 2: That's what it's all about!
COnvoy: ...Wreck-gar...

I don't think so: notice how Galvatron is glowing ominously? This could be a sign of the residual Angolmois energy in him responding to the "Star Power" Star Convoy is wielding (remember, the ship with him on board is relatively in his vicinity). What could happen is anyone guess, we'll have to wait until the next installment.

True.

It's just, since Angolmois Energy originally had jack squat to do with Unicron, I like to wonder if anything may ever go back to exploring that avenue from before it was retconned to be Unicron's energy.

Oof, "Grandfather" was not a good word choice to use since it makes Coelagon sound like he has a familial relation to Halfshell that the two have otherwise never been implied to have before.

The term used is "Jii-sama" (じいさま). While "Jii" can be used to refer to a grandfather, it most basically just refers to an old man. Halfshell uses the "-sama" honorific merely out of respect for Coelagon, not because he's literally Halfshell's grandpa.

So is the chestplate detachable on Selects King Poseidon/Piranacon or is that a nod to the G1 toy kibble?

Also, this comic provides some long awaited confirmation on what year Masterforce takes place in: 2020, nine years after The Headmasters and five years before Victory.

So Angolmois Energy and Star Power are of the same nature... duh, Primus and Unicron

At any rate, note how the Space Pirate Seacons including Halfshell have been rebuilt into new forms... wait, where's Seaphantom?

:EDIT: And well well, not only has Turtler overcome the limitation of only combining with one of each Seacon type, when he does combine with all 5 types it's a "Perfect Mode". :-?

- What is Pretender Bumblebee doing there?
- Hey, White Lune is back... who's the boy?
