Who do you think is the best Leaders of each faction and yes aubot includes maximals and decepticons includes predacons veacons. and this is from all series inlcuding comics and universe.

For the autobots My vote for best leader would have to be
Optimus Primal Beast wars/Beast machines. He continued to put himself in danger, he rescued the G1 prime, He saved seibertron and earth both times sacrafising himself. He was a great balace of war and piece. altho when he returned to seibertron he leadership skills kinda went down the drian but at the end picked up and won.

in a close second would be Transformers Victory saber, he did get beat down alot but was a very good leader

For deceptions its a harder choice, at first I thought Beast wars megatron. the lengeths he went to, to win was suprb but in all fact he was a moron and by deystroying prime he also desytroyed maximals, its the whole continuation that led to maximals and predicons. if the decepticons would of won, they would enver of decided to switch over to small energy consuming bodies. They would of continously gone form planey to planet feeding their bodies. and if G1 Megatron was never deystoryed name sakes would not be needed or not till later. And aswell Prime would not of been around to pass matrix and deystory unicron and ofcourse seibertron and earth would of been deystoyed.

So the best decepticon leader would of had to of been G1 megatron
He for one did kill prime well yes if it were not for hotrod but still he killed prime. and of all the leaders He knew when time came he would have to work with autobots and his schemes were most clever. It was his goons like the seekers and such which failed him, altho the core was his worst move. If not for fixing devasdator he would of been in the poop shoot.

A close second as well was beast machines Megatron. He did superb work, and I might even say he is tied for first place with how far he went to succeeding, If not for prime pushing him over he was just one step away from winning everything

My best leaders list:

Autobots

- Prowl (comic): He was the leader of the Autobots when Shockwave had Optimus Prime's head. He also did a good job of getting Prime back and keeping the Autobots from falling apart.

- Megatron (UK comic): Believe it or not, but Megatron was leader of the Autobots for a short time in the G1 UK comics. He devised a plan to get rid of Galvatron (from the future), but he didn't realize that Galvatron was his future incarnation at that point.

- Xaaron: He saved the Autobots on Cybertron from extinction when the Decepticons ruled Cybertron. He even brought hope to what was basically a losing battle.

- Optimus Prime (multiple continuities): Yeah, too obvious.

Decepticon:

- Shockwave (comic): During his stint as leader he made all the right moves to secure his power. He only failed because Megatron and Ratchet managed to undermine him.

- Bludgeon: He turned a defeated army into a new superpower with their own version of the Deathstar. Now THAT is a great achievement.

- Straxus: He nearly exterminated all Autobots on Cybertron. His only undoing was his arrogance.

- G2 Megatron: He took command from Bludgeon and forged a alliance with Optimus Prime to defeat the G2 Decepticons. Now that was the coolest alliance ever.

-BW/BM Megatron: A really good leader, he was never really defeated and always had something up his sleeve.

That's my picks.

Autobots:

Optimus Primal: For all the above stated reasons. In many ways, he was almost noble a leader than his namesake.

Grimlock: During the War Within years, he's the leader of his own faction and justly feared by the various Decepticon factions. Plus, he's got the greatest line in War Within 2: "Why everyone always underestimate me?"

Fortress Maximus: Unlike many, I really liked him in the Headmasters comic limited series, and his later appearance in the main comic. In some ways, he's almost like an "Ultra Magnus Lite" character wise, but he's still relatively cool.

Decepticons:

Megaton/BW: Pretty much for all the above reasons. He's actually a pretty solid leader, at many times far better than his namesake.

Shockwave: Probably the most successful Decepticon leader in all the comics. In both DW and Marvel's comics, he leads a very successful, virtually unopposed group of Decepticons. Heck, in DW he manages to bring the Autobots under his heel as well.

Starscream: Just for the Underbase saga. He obliterates sooo many other TFs while empowered by the Underbase that it's just plain silly.
